Hola, In february i will be travelling from Australia to Ecuador to volunteer and sight see. However i know very very little spanish but wish to learn it. I have been watchin youtube videos and Reading bits on the net but i want to know the best easiest way and the most important aspects of the language i should be focussing on. I will pick up more when i am over there obviously but i think it ignorant to go to a country and make no attempt to learn the language if you intend on being there more than a couple weeks. Any ideas?

Always try to communicate with people over there. If you try your best they will help you. After a while you will learn some sentences in Spanish or even whole stories, see stories as a converation, or even more. Just try and learn. If you make a mistake don't even care about it, just keep going.
