I'm happy tonight. After several hours of installing Eclipse, Java and Android SDK, I finally configured my computer for developing Android apps. I can now start tinkering with Android and see what application I can come up with during the weekend. Hmm. Next step is actually buying my first Android phone. Oh well, it's only a matter of time. Maybe next month.

Congratulations :) I had successfully set things up several months ago, and sadly I am not developing any Android apps right now . Your discussion had remind me of my dear Eclipse and Android SDK. I guess I have to improve the quality of my holiday now by playing with Eclipse again..

Well, in a month or two, I'm planning to buy an Android phone so I want some applications I've developed up and running by then. Probably if you have an Android phone, you may be motivated to develop Android apps as well. Anyway, another motivation for me is learning more about Java programming seeing that Android is just Java for mobile devices. And more importantly, I'd like to find out if I can make money by selling my work on the Android Market.

I have a Motorola Droid 2 and love it. I plan on getting the Droid 3 as it has a better qwerty keyboard and an improved quality camera. Good luck on your app development. I wish I knew how to do that stuff. :-)
