In the past I thought that all the McDonald's fastfood restaurants would have the same price. But I was wrong. As one day we had a travel and we had a break by the highway. The McDonald's fastfood restaurant besides the high way has a much more expensive price. I really dislike it

Hi youless! I agree that they don't have the same price and I think it depends on the area. Like in airport of course they need to pay high for the area rented and etcetera so in order to get back the capital they need to increased the price. More customer means the place is more popular, the expenses will get increased so the price of the food. It not just for McDonald's but I think most of the restaurants will do the same. (^^)

And we will get extremely shocked with the high price. This remind me when we get to airport and we were so surprised about the price of breakfast mean in Mcdonalds but we got no choice as it's the only restaurant who served breakfast that morning.(^^)

Prices can vary drastically from restaurant-to-restaurant within a chain. Menus can also vary quite a bit as well. Personally, I prefer going off the highway a bit and stopping at the smaller, local places. The food is better; the prices tend to be reasonable, and I actually get a bit of a feel for the area. When my boyfriend and I moved this time, we stopped at only one chain restaurant during the entire trip (which spanned several days and states). The rest of the time, we stopped at small, local places. Since we ventured off the highway, we found a place to which we'd like to return later for a vacation and a nice little town that we would like to explore in more depth when we aren't in the process of moving (complete with trailer in tow).

Here it seems it is not easy to find a reasonable price in the highway.

I don't go into Macdonalds any more but as a teenager I would go in quite a lot with friends, after college or at the weekends, just for the milkshakes, and I noticed when I was in the capital the prices were a lot different to the local Macdonalds in my area, they also make them dearer if they are near major train stations and airports, so I guess this pricing is worldwide. I think that is very crafty and also very greedy personally.

hi youless! here in my country, all McDonald's fastfood have the same prices, i think all prices are regulated here by the main franchise owner. however, prices differ in other countries and so with the kind of burgers and promos they offer. anyway, wherever i go if i can't cook i would go to mcdonalds. take care and have a nice day! lovelots..faith210

Hello youless I have checked out McDonald's fast food restaurant prizes both locally and internationally and noticed that they are the same ONLY in the same city (town). Highway prices are as you mentioned higher, and the price also varies depending on the country as well.

I just noticed it too not only on McDonalds. The franchise inside a resort is much higher than on those regular place. I think that valuing is written in their ethics. The more exclusive the place the more it cost higher. They cater special consumer in those special place... I thought!

I happen to live near the McDonalds with the largest play place. They have food much more expensive. Also in Alaska and Hawai'i it is a lot more expensive. However, for the most part, in the United States the price of McDonalds food is quite the same wherever you buy it. That is a bad thing when you want to buy something from the same place for more money... it's just not right Zelo

No they don't have the same prices. I've been told corporate owned locations are cheaper than franchise owned McD's. Only trouble is how does one know which is corporate vs a franchise owned location? I know it's very true because we bought a shamrock shake the other year at the one around the corner by a gas station... guess what it was nearly $9 for two large shakes but when I was at the corproate one by my Aunts house they were $2.79 each for a large!!! Burger Kings here are similar too, they don't all accept the same coupons or run the same promotions. As a few have the 2 whoppers for $4 but of course those ones are not by my house I have the expensive one that does not run that promotion nor do they accept the coupons.

I haven't encountered such case here in our place. I've been to many and different branches of McDo, may it here in metro city or another city and even another province- but the price is still the same.

Yes, lots of restaurants do this. Highway rest stops, airports, and malls are especially guilty. If the store thinks they have a captive audience that doesn't have a choice about where they're going to eat, they raise their prices.

not only McDonald's fastfppd restaurant some kind of fastfood restaurant also do the same. In some places they will give the price as we see on TV , but in other place it might be much expensive. And I noted this from my experience that one place not give a good servive as the other place does.

i also meet with the similar case. Some stores put up prices in some special places, like tourist spots, or railway station. However, I have never found that McDonald's fastfood restaurants have different prices. Maybe it's because that I never enter into the McDonald's by the highway so I don't understand the situation. But last night, festival of lanterns, my friends and I went to HANJIE in WUHAN to amuse ourselves. Eating in a McDonald's near the entrance, we found that the ice-cream cone is not as delicious as the one in ASIAN TRADE PLAZA.
