I love the Grocery stores that are the mom and pop kind of stores and you rarely see them anymore now days we mainly do our grocery shopping in larger corporation at stores like Wal Mart. Kroger or whatever type of big store it might be. My husband wanted to go to this grocery store today which we used to go to it was Minyards sure that is another big or used to be a corporation too but where this one was located it was used to be close to us and it was like a small grocery store but I had to break the news to him it is no longer there it is now a huge Fiesta store. There is no more small grocery stores here and I miss them. Do you have them where you live?

Hi Jahernandezivas,
Geez your name is really long! I felt like I may get carpotunnel just typing it out...just kiddin but it's long.
Anyway, I live in New England and we don't have may of those stores but a few still survive here and there. I work in a family owned convenience store that is really larger than average for a convenience store. I like it. It's a relativly stress-free job..very laid back atmosphere. Some of the bigger stores like Walmart drove many of them out which is really too bad because while they might be more pricey, the customer service and the personal care to customers can't be beat.

We have 2 or 3. They don't stay in business long. Someone will own it for a few months & then they sell. I guess the owner's just don't make money anymore. It's sad the mom & pop stores always treated you like a human not as a number in the herd of cattle they rifle through daily. There's nothing like a personal touch in business. You sure don't get that these days. Best Wishes!

Hi ja hernandez rivas: I actually have the opportunity to go and do my shops in a little shop that is very comfortable and I have gone there since I am a little boy. That's because I live in a town and even if we have some big markets like Carrefour you still can find these traditional stores that offer things at competitive prices.

I have to say that where I live (in Italy), speaking specifically of my city (Genova), there are still some small grocery stores.
now certain that the supermarkets and discounters have taken over, game-force of the economic crisis that forces us to also save on food.
If I have to go to discount stores usually stock. But for small purchases, was still the practice of go into the little shop just below the house.
