January 22, 2012 -- I went to Anjaneyar Temple, near PS Senior Secondary School, Mylapore. this temples holds a place in a my life because during my 30s we were staying near that temple--my children had education in the school situate opposite to it. My Accountancy teacher stays opposite to that temple. He is no.84. During 1970s he taught me the principles of Double Entry book keeping -- Debit the receiver credit the giver, debit what comes in, credit what goes out, debit all expenses and credit all incomes and gains. I learnt Accountancy very well and I could pass my bank exams in first attempt. I went and met him. He is not able to walk freely now on account of old age. He recognised my face and invited me by telling my name correctly. he asked details about me. I asked him " do you want any help?" He said nothing nothing. (His sons are employed as chartered accountants well). Tears came on his eyes on seeing me. I was with him for a few minutes and then bid good bye to him. There are few teachers likes him who take extra ordinary interest in students and teach and guide them. I was happy in visiting that anjaneya temple (big statue) and also visiting my teacher. Have you had any such experience of meeting your best teacher after a gap lof say 10/20 years? Share your experiences.

I have the greatest regard for my teachers. I myself am a freelance teacher and had a big tuition centre of my own in Trichy earlier. One day, I was suddenly invited to be a chief guest in my precious former college, in appreciation of my service to society. The head of department and assistant principal was my favorite lecturer who was like a class teacher in my PG class and we were all extremely close to her then. She invited me and shared snacks with me after I delivered my speech. I will treasure this day as long as I live.SHe was so happy to see me and I will never forget this. There is another favorite lecturer of mine who is greatly respected by me and I am in touch with her through internet. We are blessed to have had such wonderful lecturers and I owe all that I am to my teachers.

kalav: Happy to note you also work as a freelance teacher. Great.,You are in touch with your teachers and it is good. Teaching professions brings immediate happiness after a good class. Same way sometimes when a session is not received properly because of their lack of interest then I use to feel bad for a few minutes. Afterwards i will forget and move ahead.
