Yesterday I celebrated the Chinese New Year with my long time friends. We had dinner at a restaurant overlooking the majestic Manila Bay and waited for the fireworks at midnight. It was nice to spend such occasions with friends and feeling like a kid again while the sky lights up with colorful fireworks display.
And to make our Chinese New Year complete, we trudged to the Casino that was a short walk from the restaurant. Now, don't get me wrong. We don't do this often and it was something we all agreed to do just for fun. And it was my first time to ever step into a Casino, so off we went fortified with alcohol and armed with P200 ($5
) each.
Now my friend was able to play in the Casino slot machines before, but that was five years ago. I guess the cashier must be laughing so hard no because we went to the counter in order to change our cash for tokens. Now I don't know when this changed, but now in order to play the slot machines all you need to do is insert your money and spin away.
The games are also confusing unlike the ones that I've been seeing in movies. Now, there's no crank. All you need to do is push a button. But before you do push the button make sure that you check on the bet amount. The casino patrons must've thought that we were so drunk because we were laughing at all the blunders that we made trying to figure out how to win in the slot machines. At one time because I wasn't able to check on the bet amount, half of my money was gone at the first push of the button
.
So this is how I spent my Chinese New Year. Has anyone here really won anything from the slot machines? Sometimes we thought that we had won something, but it was just the machine playing ka-ching! ka-ching! sounds when the bonus picture came onto screen

Hehe, well me and my cousins just spent the night watching the chinese new year countdown on tv and switches to movie channels once in a while. I haven't been in a casino yet, but I have played a few similar machines on arcade booths though you don't actually win real cash but rather tokens that you can use to play arcade machines etc. However, the only problem is that when you lose control and spend your money on more tokens/bets, and later on you'll find yourself with an empty wallet hehehe.

That's the reason why my friends and I agreed that we would spend P200 ($5) tops in the slot machines. We did not win anything also, but we had a lot of fun and I'm sure we annoyed quite a few people because we were running around the slot machines like kids trying to check on each one. Thanks for your response!
