Hey guys hi.. I was just wondering about how to keep ourself fit? I work in office sitting on computer for 8 hours, since iam on a training period i have 3 days off in a week. My intake of fast food and fried contents is more, though i don't exercise a lot, but i sometimes go standing for 1 and half hour in train when there is no seat available and on weekends go to play cricket with my friends. I think all these things is not getting me in a good shape, I have a friend who is an exercise geek, when he comes from office he exercises at night and then after an hour haves food and goes to sleep, i never seen such an dedication before, So my friends i want to ask you what sort of things do you do for your fitness is there any crash diet which you follow? what exercise schedule you follow in busy routines, Iam sure there must be lot of opinions for you to share..

First of all you should try to eat healthier foods so as not to get excessive fats.Secondly try to use the stairs and not the elevator whenever this is possible and reasonable. Try to get to a gym ,if you have time, or buy something to exersice at home which is more convinient. You can also start jogging at weekends. I personally try to eat healthy cooked home foods , use the stairs instead of the elevator and go to the gym 2-3 times in a week.

Oh yes i probably use elevators a lot, during work. I guess have to shift to stairs to keep healthy, As you said about the diet, i have told my mom to boil things like meat instead of frying, that would make me more healthier and give less fats. Talking about the gym thing i have decided to go for gym on my three days off and start off things lightly.

How I keep in shape is well keeping up with my toddler and now I'm pregnant so I walk daily to help out with that. I'm naturally thin so it doesn't take too much work.

Are you serious, or is this just wishful thinking? No one is making you eat fast food. If you were to make a lunch at home to eat at work you would save enough money to join a Yoga class, and keep fit, and trim at the same time. Generally speaking people who b!tch about the condition of their health and just b!tching! They have an unlimited number of reasons for continuing on with their unhealthy ways!

I do run every other day from 5am to 6am. Then on weekends i go out with my friends to go mountain biking hit the trails! And of course you also have to eat healthy food and stay away from those unhealthy ones. Being fit and makes you feel younger and its like flushing the bad vibes away through your sweat :) So start exercising now and be healthy ;)

Wow, that's sounds so interesting you are doing a lot to keep yourself fit, Waking 5 in the morning and going running needs lot of dedication and commitment, which you have. On top of that I guess you are doing your favorite job of biking and mountain trials, unluckily we don't have such exposures to mountain. Hope i could one day do exercise with such commitment. Thanks chelley..

Like you, I also work 8-9 hours a day sitting right in front of a computer. Although you are more privilege to have a three days off, I would suggest for you to spend a day of those three is something healthy. Go for a walk or jog at least once a week. What I do in my unhealthy lifestyle is sometimes I would walk from office to my place. It is around 3 kilometers and that's what I do to break my unhealthy lifestyle.

Yeah i know that the three days is a privilege and fun to know about, I use my three days for sports and all I guess its compared to same as exercising, iam planning to start gyming in that three days of my week. Iam glad to know that you have taken lot of initiative to exercise in your unhealthy lifestyle. Walking 3 kms sometimes would be like a big achievement for you. Good to know about that, Thanks for the opinion be healthy and stay Fit.

You must know, that I unfortunately have the bad habit of smoking! This surely is negative! I can not then devote to fitness, because I do not have enough breath (you understand). just to give you an example, I moved about 100 meters a microwave oven, after resting at the home of a friend of mine, I was already exhausted. It took me about 15 minutes before I recover from fatigue. How can I play sports in these conditions?

I think dude instead of working out, you should find a way to quite smoking, I know this could be crazy to you, but as you know you yourself know the consequences better than me, Sorry if you find my comment weird but its for your better and future. God bless you.

I am vegan and I eat a healthy diet. I walk my kids to school so that is about half an hours walk there and back. I leave at 08.30 to get there for 08.50. I leave my home at 15.00 to collect my son at 15.15. It is a pleasant walk along a path for most of the way. I also walk with my two dogs in the countryside and by the sea. I belong to a sports club and I go there for swimming, spa, gym and dancing. I like the zumba dancing class most of all. I like riding my bike. I suggest taking a bike on the train and part of the journey cycling to work. That kept me slim and fit for years in my mid twenties to my early thirties. I used to be able to do long country walks of around 20 miles each Saturday. Now I have a disabled son in a wheelchair I am not able to get him out on such a walk. Jogging or running in the evening after work is a possibility. Swimming at a pool on a Sunday is a good idea for a busy person.

Dedication is one of the biggest parts to keeping yourself fit, and you have to follow 2 different pieces. One, count how many calories you're eating in a day. You should probably be having around 1800 calories per day. Do some research on how many calories are in foods, and keep the info up, put it on your computer or a cell phone or a notepad. Then, you should be getting at least a half hour of exercise per day. Now, if you're not used to much exercise, then you can count something like, a fast paced walk for a half hour, as exercise... but keep building it up! Exercise is something that you do that makes you have to breathe more. The more you have to breathe, the more calories you're burning. Jogging is an awesome exercise. Really works you, easy to do, and fun to visit locations around you. I do more bike riding, that's really thrilling to me. Just find what works best with you, and go for that! Set goals, check your weight daily, and try to achieve the goals that you set. Give yourself enough time, and you can do it.

I am disabled so there are a lot of exercises I can't do. I do some easy exercises and stretches almost everyday. I used to exercise to lose weight, now I just don't want my muscles to atrophy. I have joined a site called SparkPeople.com. Actually, I heard about it from another MyLotter. There are a number of teams you can join. A lot of different exercises, tips, and a lot of motivation. There are a number of chair exercises you could do at your desk. One of which is marching in place. Give it a try and I am sure you will find some information that is helpful to you.

MY bf and brother are both fitness freaks too. Both of them would go for long distance runs 4 times a week. On weekends, we would usually have 2 hours for outdoor activities, doing different things each time till we find a new interest. Til date, we have tried rock climbing, tree climbing, adventure camps, marathons, biathlon, cycling, volleyball and all kind of games. We don't like to stick to just one regime so as to keep our passion burning.

Iam not much diet conscious because when my mom makes some tasty stuff my tongue starts watering and i can't resist the temptation, however i am trying myself to replace rice with a light stuff like bread and all, apart from that as i told my only excerice is through playing outdoor games, but that ain't helping to keep the tummy in i have to work on the diet as you said can get some results, thanks for sharing the opinion.

I wish i could exercise and stay fit. I wish I could eat healthy food. But i cant because I have started working and hardly get time for myself, forget about working out. I wish I could at least go jogging or do some cardio and stay fit and increase my stamina. I know one day I will join a gym or at least start jogging... Hope that day comes soon...

I was doing really well for awhile with my fitness but again I slipped downward abit and now have to start thinking about losing a few more pounds. This is what I hate about losing weight, once you loose it's only gone for a short time and back again. I don't want to be back where I started from, but it hurts to excersize...
