Can you still remember the time without Facebook?

Before friendster age and other social networking websites arise, can you still remember what do you look forward to get online? I remember in my elelmetary years that I use to go to cafe's to chat. Mind you it wasn't yahoo, google, at that time. We use MIRC and chat sessions with friends from all over gets disconnected for several times. At that time, that was the only tool for us to communicate and sharing of pictures is not as easy as compared to today.
Can you still remember what it was before, prior to facebook and other soical network sites?

I was getting ready to start my senior year in high school the first time that we were lucky enough to have the internet in our house. That was way before facebook, but I did spend a lot of time talking to people on AOL and also on Prodigy.
In fact, it was still before facebook when I met the man that is now my husband through the computer. So, I don't think that I will ever forget what life was like before there was facebook.

i remember before this convenience, i had to wait a couple of months to receive a letter and pictures from my sister overseas. the long wait makes the parcel worth it. something you would keep and treasure.

I still do recall the days wherein MIRC was the most popular chat zone. At that time I'm still curious what is the internet and how does it works. But now, I'm totally aware of it.
