I recently read a book written by the country music singer Gretchen Wilson. It was a good book but there wasn't anything really special about it. She grew up poor had a hard life etc. but so has most people myself included. Do you think books written by celebrities are just published because they are celebrities? Do you think it is fair that most of us are struggling to become published authors when celebrities could write a grocery list and get it published?

No, I haven't read any books written by a celebrity. There are a few books that I would be interested in reading, but I haven't had the chance to do so yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the time to do so in the future.

Paranormal State: My Journey into the Unknown by Ryan Buell. It's about the process that went into making the first season of the television show, Paranormal State, how Ryan came to develop the Paranormal Research Society at Penn State, his confrontations with the paranormal... if you ever watched the show I think it was a very interesting read. If you haven't, I'm not sure what kind of effect it would have. Also Touching from a Distance: Ian Curtis and Joy Division ... It was actually written by Curtis' widow Deborah about life with him and the band. It served as the direct research material for Anton Corbijn's film Control. I'm a big Joy Division fan and it's a really quick read. I have waiting on a shelf for me to read some time in the near future, By Myself and Then Some by Lauren Bacall and the Secret Diary of a Call Girl by Belle DuJour. I like autobiographies and biographies written by someone close to the action, as it were.

They get there books published but i dont think they are the ones writing them at all i think they pay someone to do it for them and then get paid for the books they sell of course. I think if you have money in your pocket you can get your books published which isnt right at all but its life and how it works. I had started reading a book that Lauren conrad wrote but then i never finished it but since i do admire her and how she has become who she is in life and it is truly amazing. Shes a young person in her twenties like me and i feel i can relate to it and she didnt grow up poor like most people have so i do like to read it and when i do finish it im sure it will be a good book to read.

I have never read a celebrity book and I do not plan to do so. I just think books about celebrities are overrated while indeed, they do not deserve the ratings. It is unfair that the publishers choose not publish other important books and instead go for those celebrity books.
