Hubby and i went to Staples because our youngest daughter needed a new backpack and in the flyer, they were listed for $4.99. we got there and they ended up being half of that! (we are talking $29 as the original price!) so we bought a couple for birthday presents. I sent hubby back the next day to get a couple more for other birthday presents and they rang in at 62 cents! how great is that? what has been your best bargain?

I'm always looking for a good bargain, but probably the best I've ever found was when a grocery store was going out of business. They had Kraft BBQ sauce for 10 cents a bottle! I stocked up, big time. Another time, a local store had tuna 3 for a dollar and I bought a case. Should have bought two cases.

We do (still!) like tuna. I've found other bargains, but those are the two that stick in my mind.

Well my mother law has worked at staples for about 25 years now. Amazing i know lol. Well anyways i hear of the bargains all the time from there and she actually comes home with stuff and buys her grand kids back packs when there on sale and ships them out with full of stuff. Shes really good about that and we like out bargains i know that much. I am actually a shopper of the by one get one frees every week at the grocery stores and i like my pantry and fridge to be stocked up and so i dont have to grocery shop all the time is a great feeling too. If i have a coupon for the buy one get one free items i will be puchasing it right away too becasue then i know im really getting a bargain on that item too. Last week at the grocery store my bill was over 50 and walked out spending only 29 dollars and alot of stuff and i was glad too and alot of the times are still in the pantry- thank goodness.

we dont get too many 'buy one get one free' deals. most of the deals here in Canada are buy one, get one half off (which is not bad but it depends on what the deal is.)

Wow!! .62 for a backpack? I know if I ever seen a Sale like that I would be doing some major stocking up. Would probably buy them and fill them with things that the homeless my husband and I are working with via the Homeless Ministry via our church could use. This is actually the Best price I have ever heard of. We have been able to get many Great deals from time to time. While we are here in Portland for our Anniversary we got a Great deal on a cover for our Gazebo. Ours ripped quite bad last month when we had our really Bad snow storm, and we thought we were out of luck. JC Penny luckily had a replacement we were needing, and only charged us $20 for it. It usually would be at least $100.

My best bargain is for a tank top that I bought just recently. This top is priced at P249 ($5) and since I really liked it I said it would be a nice Christmas gift for myself so I took one. I was surprised at the cashier/counter because I only paid P85 (more or less $2) for it! The cashier explained that most of the clothes were on sale, part of their post Christmas holiday sale. It's just bad that I wasn't able to get another one because when I went back all of these tops were gone. I also like bargains at the grocery, especially when they do so with imported cheeses. I like imported cheeses but it would blow my budget if I indulge in it every time I shop. So when there's a sale, like a buy one-take one offer, I get some.

recently i would say the best bargain i have had was when i made $4 bucks by buying the scrubbing bubbles one step toilet cleaning set. it was $8.99. i had $4 dollars off coupon and there is a rebate for full price back. of course you would have to buy other things so they dont see that the coupon was for it but around here a lot of shops give you instore credit with certain purchases and between the money back and coupons its not impossible to make money in buying things

So nice of that, I hope we also have that kind of store that offers like that here in Philippines. I am really tightening my budget that's why I'm also looking for best bargain but it's not easy to find one here though. I hope one day or there will be a time that we will experience same with you.

Having it come off second best in a "tug of war" with my cat, It turned out I needed another keyboard for the computer not long ago... (As I'm typing this, that spinning Question mark gif for the "Q&A" discussions up there has him sat here on the desk, fascinated!) Of the 2 places that are not specialist computer stores where I'd do My regular shopping, one was out of their budget priced keyboards.the other place's budget one was ticketed at £4 more..so I went for it...and on getting to the checkout, the scanner read it at 50% off-less than the one that was out of stock!

OH - sounds like you found an awesome bargain with those backpacks! It's especially nice when you get a surprise deal on top of that when you hit the cashier - what a great feeling! I can't remember my very best deal . . . I'll have to think about that for a sec - but I remember a couple years ago my mom went to buy some spiral notebooks for my daughter at Office Depot. The cashier asked my mom if she wanted more and she said no . . . and the guy said they're only ringing in at 5 cents each . . . so my mom jumped at the bargain and bought a whole box!! We still have a bunch of them - the box sits near the computer so that's what I thought of that upon reading your discussion. Ok, so I've had many bargain deals - I can't think which one was the best! I am thinking of this past Christmas when I bought my son this wooden peg hammering toy at Kohl's. I think it was supposed to be like $15.00 but the cashier said it rang up as clearance at $1 and a few cents!!!
