Does the postage go up again?

Today, I went to the post office and trying to mail a plain letter in certified mail, but the price just unexpectedly high. I used to pay around $5.70, or less than that. Today, I mailed this letter in certified mail, it cost me more than $6.20. What's up with that? No wonder many people switch to bill payment, and other electronic payment rather than post office. I might consider less use post office and reduce the usage and purchase of stamps. I mean experiencing the rising cost of postage, I should switch to other options. Sorry, I have to save some cost in daily expenses.

I suggest paying online if you want to save money on postage.

If you have other options, fine. But, don't be too hard on the post office. They are bankrupt and they are struggling to survive just like everybody else. If we want their services, we have to be willing to pay for it.

I don't know about certified mail, but first class postage went up a penny, to 45 cents. It doesn't make sense to send things through the mail for nearly a half dollar if you can pay online for nothing.

Yes postage stamps went up by a penny. I do not like the idea of that because I do send out cards from time to time. The post offices are not doing well and there have been talks that some post offices will be closing soon. I know it is terrible that things keep on going up while there are so few jobs around.
