"We picked an option that is more about the next generation than the next election" This was one of the best lines from Gov. Walker's State of the State address in Wisconsin. He has spent the last year showing it, now he has come out and said it. Isn't this what we keep saying we want from our elected officials?

That's what I call a statesman! For people who don't know the meaning of the word, a statesman is a person who works for the good of the country no matter what the cost to himself. Walker has the qualities I'd love to see in a president. Doing the hard stuff even though it means he might not be re-elected and even when it means he'll be creating a firestorm around his office. He does what is right, what others are afraid to do to save his state. Hooray for Gov. Walker!

We say that's what we want until it affects our personal bottom line, then we buck at the idea of elected officials toying with our special interest. It's all right to consider others, but don't mess with mine. As a result, we continue on that downward spiral. It's refreshing to see someone who will do the right thing in spite of the consequences to himself. Although some might appose it now, if he pulls it off, I believe the state of Wisconsin will see positive results even before the next generation.

I'm don't know that I can fully agree with everything going on in Wisconsin. But it is nice to see that some people are willing to give up something to have a better future. It wouldn't only benefit next generations. But it could also benefit everyone in a few years. Its too bad most people would rather struggle the rest of their lives for a tv that they'll probably only have for a few years.

We need more Walkers in cities and states across America. Imagine.... Today, though, even parents and grandparents don't give a ding-dong about the next generation. How can you expect a politician to??? Statesman.... Boy would it be nice to have more of them.
