I am looking at a Caribbean cruise. I have never been on a cruise before, but I always wanted to visit the Caribbean. Has anyone here been on a cruise before? If I go on this one, I will get to see 5 different countries in 14 nights! And the ship looks gorgeous too.

When the ocean is calm then yes there is nothing in this world better then going on a cruise & walking along the deck just before sunset or the fine dinning each evening that spoils you so much that you don't ever want to go home. Then there is the entertainment which to me is like going to a Broadway show each & every night. That being said though the two times I went on a cruise w/ my husband I could hardly relax because the ocean was so rough. The ship would go way up in the air it felt like & then just as quickly fall down making my stomach turn over & over. My husband who likes roller coasters thought nothing of it & enjoyed almost every moment of our cruise(although he said there were a few times on this last cruise that even his stomach did a few flip flops). So in short it just depends if you have a strong stomach or not. Now if there are better times during the year to go on a cruise when the sea isn't so rough that might make a different too. We were told this last time to go in March because the ocean is much more calm at that time of the year, well that turned out to be a lie because it was anything but. The first cruise my husband & I went on was in Oct. & that was just as bad. I told my husband after our last cruise that we would not being on anymore cruises for a while if ever....LOL

Yes, I had thought about the sea sickness! I have been on a little ferry from Dover to Calais before though in really choppy waters and that was fine. A little swaying but I only had trouble staying upright which I wouldn't imagine should be such a big problem. I have been told by a family member who used to live there that the Caribbean have a rainy season from April to October which I guess would be bad times to travel, but this ones in November so hopefully it would avoid the bad weather. I do like the thought of having all that entertainment and luxury on board though! Having looked at the ropy hotel deals around, a cruise just looks far better at our budget and we really want to see a lot of countries too

That sounds great. My parents were on two different cruises, one to the Bahamas and one to the Virgin Islands. Their cruise was a week. They loved it.

I have been on a training vessel for a week up the River Thames in freezing cold January when I was a further education student. My college was on the River Thames. I was 19 years old when I visited the island of St Lucia in the Caribbean. I haven't been on posh cruise ship. I think seeing 5 different countries in 14 nights sounds like the ideal trip. I would love to go back to the Caribbean and visit more islands. I went to Belize and loved the time I spent on Caye Caulker. That is in Central America. I hope that you will really enjoy your cruise.
