New To Blogging

Hello MyLotters, I have done many styles of writing in the past everything from poetry to a comical look at eating disorders (from the point of view of an anorexic - which I was as a teen), from witty one liner jokes to in depth breakdown of the infrastructure of the care industry in the UK. Lately I have been contemplating beginning a blog, I would like to write reviews of products, services, and people. In a useful but humourous way. My question is, how to go about beginning the blog and attracting companies whose items I may review. I do have a fantastic pram that I use for my children which I would like to review first but do I need to have the company's permission before I do this? Or do I have to contact them with a link to the review after it is written so that they can approve it? The reason I would like to start with this pram is because as a mother to two young children of close ages but different stages of development I spent hours searching the internet for the right pram to suit all of our needs and could not believe that more people with young sibling children do not have one of these. It is a fantastic investment for my children. Any bloggers out there able to give me some advice please? Many thanks in advance.

If you're reviewing, you do NOT need to ask permission or notify the company when you publish: your opinions are your own and do not need authorisation (isn't free speech great?). The only time you would need to disclose is if a company sent you a product for free. I recently did this with my book and the lady who reviewed it clearly stated that she got the book for free but with no obligation to provide a review skewed in any direction: she was completely at liberty to say what she honestly felt about it. (Thankfully, she loved it.) If you'd like companies to send you stuff to review, the simplest method is to start blogging and contact them. Just ask if they'll send you review items of interest to your target audience and you never know, they might just do it.
