how to be a "wedding singer in the philippines"?

I'm dreaming of becoming a wedding singer in our country, philippines. But I don't know how I will start. Any wedding singer out there? how did you start your carrer as a wedding singer? please tell me how, I have no idea how to become one, until now Im still singing in videoke. I get envy with some wedding singers when I watching them in youtube. I don't have experience thats why I'm asking. I even didn't joined any singing competition, I'm 23 right now. hoping for your advice. I will appreciate any advice you will give. thanks

Hi Fortuna! Welcome to Mylot! I am not a wedding singer but i am a choirmember and we do have wedding gigs at times. You may want to post your profile at a site named weddings at work. You can also post your videos there so that they your would-be clients would be able to gauge to get your services. Good luck!

are they hiring singers with no experience? would I be given a chance even do I'm only a videoke singer and no achievements in singing yet?

goodday fortuna100 and welcome to mylot! i am a singer but not a wedding singer so I don't really have much input that you can use but in my opinion, if you are really good in singing and have an excellent voice, try joining some singing contest and showcase your talent, that way, many people will recognize your talent including your friend's friends, who knows one thing will lead to another, you will be invited to one of your friend's wedding then to another wedding and so on..just be open to all opportunity that knocks and accept it no matter what the outcome would be..let your voice do the negotiation happy mylotting
