I have a new coffee pot that contains a hot water section and it keeps water hot all the time. I am finding it is great for makng oatmeal and all sorts of stuff, but especially teas.Do you think you can drink too much of it? I know it's good for you...

I know the mint, but have never seen the peppermint. They say that the peppermint is a cross between watermint and spearmint. The mint is a Traditional Chinese Medicine that can treat common cold , sorethroat and headache of wind-heattype.etc.I believe the peppermint has the similar curative effects.

That's all very interesting. I knew it was good for the digestive system, but not about the other curative effects! Thanks for all the useful information. I like peppermint very much but don't want to drink too much of it.

It contains volatile oil and has medicinal properties,so you are right for you don't want to drink it that much.

Peppermint tea may cause digestive problems if you drink too much of it because it relaxes the muscles in the esophagus. That's what helps a tummy feel better because air bubbles can come up when the esophagus is more relaxed, but too much and you can get heartburn from it.
Too much of anything is not good for you!

It is true that too much of anything is not good for us! I know peppermint is supposed to be good for the stomach, I didn't know it relaxed it. I suppose I need to switch out with some other kinds of teas...but I am really enjoying the peppermint!

I know that it is healthy to drink eight glasses of water each day. I think it is fine to drink lots of pepper mint tea if you want to. Also fruit teas are fine to drink ever such a lot of. My mom drinks lots of English tea. My sister does too. I drink fruit juice, water, peppermint tea and fruit tea. I used to drink coffee but stopped when I found out I am allergic to it. I was told not to let my disabled son drink lots of rice milk. Only one of those at a time is safe to drink.

Coffee is my drink of choice, but I try to limit it to no more than about 3 or 4 cups each day. so, since it's cooler now, I have gone back to drinking my teas again. I have just found that I really enjoy the peppermint particularly! I do drink quite a bit of water too as it is important!

hi macdingolinger your user name still reminds me of the old fashioned party lines on a landline phone where we were in the country and each family had different rings I remember ours were three shorts. seems really bizarre now asnd confusing. I love peppermint tea but yes I think like most things you could drink too
much and feel really icky.I was just thinking a coffee pot that would do that would be great here in our room. Hot water for instant oatmeal or hot chocolate or a decent cup of hot coffee when I first wake up.
I am living in a retirement center and miss cooking for myself so much.Yes peppermint tea for me is really good when my tummy is upset as it soothes your stomach. Moderation in all things is the
key to good health I think.

I hear you on the moderation thing! For sure, it is always best. I do remember the old party lines but we never were on one. I really enjoy the coffee pot. It has the coffee pot of course on one side and then the spout for hot water on the other. I use it to make oatmeal - and tea of course! You could use it for all the instant items. Might make you some pretty good snacks!

I am sure you can drink in whatever amount your heart desire, if the peppermint tea taste good to you. But i doubt that you can drink too much tea a day regardless of what type it is, usually two to three cup of tea a day is the most i can drink, after that, i found that it's just tasteless, especially if you drink them with an ampty stomach.

I am usually sort of like that - I can only drink so much of some kinds of teas. But I have really been enjoying peppermint tea and started to drink it all day long! I am guessing it is not too bad for me...hopefully!

I can take my peppermint tea one cup at a time but spread out the whole day. I cannot function without.

That is sort of what I have been doing. I make a cup of peppermint tea, then when it runs low I add more water - but not more tea leaves. I may do that two or three times before I dump the rest out and give it a break. Then I do that two or three times a day.
