today's children are more starter in computer and mobile technologies than their parents. they keep every folder, files, user page, mobile etc locked. their fingers dance on key board very quickly. if they have doubts that you are coming to check them immediately they change their jobs. even they erase browsing history data after every use. in such situation how to monitor children specially teenagers what they are doing online?

I think you must give them a bit freedom, because if you always try to help them not doing stupid thing on-line and they go live alone they will go do that stupid things because nobody is looking. Just say to them don't can do stupid thing and why they don't can do that. But the technologies is the future and children need it more that adults at the moment because later they have to work with it.

You can't. What you can do is educate your children. Let them know what happens if they do or don't do something. Use facts. Try not to use opinions otherwise they might think you are being biased.

Yeah i think the same as you, if you just let them do things that do don't must do thet know it and will listen to you the next time. Always looking on there screen what they are doing is impossible and it is just the best they learn it by them-selfs. You can compare it with a study book or just doing it in real life, when you do it in real life you learn more from it and could bertter understand it than when you only look in study books.

Indeed kids are getting smarter and smarter to the point of getting smarter than their parents. But would you let your child outsmart you? Of course if I were to be asked with this question my answer is a big NO! I will not allow my child to outsmart me in any way. I always set boundaries in whatever he does and never do I allow him to engage in any cyber activities without my supervision. I also don't allow him to stay on the computer for long time. He can only do that on specific time and with my supervision and he know he should follow for this is for his own sake. I think it takes just proper guidance and disciple to make a good child.

children hate it when you monitor them. let them explore but be there to guide them. tell them what they should do and what they should not do. i would recommend that you ban the sites you don't want them to visit but they are clever and they will find a way. rules help sometimes and i believe in punishing them when they go against the rule you've agreed upon. they should be disciplined right under your roof because when they go out, it will be harder for you.

Hi Chouksey MK: You feel worried because you care for the safety of your children and this simply good. However, we have to assume that you can't control every aspect of your children's life. In fact, I think this could have a negative impact on a child. Just share your points of views and make them know what you expect from them, teach them, offer them your support but at the end of the day, you have to trust in your children. ALVARO

There are programs that allow you to monitor a lot of different things on a lot of different devices. But these too will fall when kids learn how to get around them. Kids will be kids and will always be ahead of adults on what's new and savvy.

You can monitor them thru their Social Networking Sites. If you can't monitor them thru Facebook, then asked them directly on what they're doing. Tell them that this is for their sake.

I agree, online technology has made monitoring difficult. But as long as they are under your roof, you can use the same technology to keep an eye on their external activities.
