I want to receive my earned dollars as dollars, not in peso.

When I write articles and receive pay for it, I usually receive payment in dollar. But when I withdraw it from paypal, it gets converted to peso. I don't know if paypal has a feature to actually remit the payments in dollar. Before, I opened a dollar account so I can get a dollar from paypal. But now, paypal automatically converts it to peso. Can you give me an advice on how I can possibly receive the dollar in dollar form and not converted to peso? My project provider pays through paypal and not on bank transfer. Western union is not a good option too because my employer pays only through online.

I do not thing it is possible because you would have to speak with the bank on that. Also, I think paypal has dollar account and account on your currency and they are seperate ones on a similar account. Try poking around paypal for that or send them a message.

Hello digidogo. I tried doing that with paypal. But right now, since they've converted automatically to peso, I can no longer receive in dollar with paypal even if I use my dollar bank account. Anyway, I will try to look around the internet to find a better option. Thanks for the suggestion. Have a nice day!!!

So I see. What a shame that that has happened. How about you look for another payment alternative? Try Alertpay though I have not tried it yet.

Its natural for a Filipino to received peso if our bank is peso bank account. I always withdraw my money in dollars but when It appears to my bank account . Its already converted in Peso. Tried to get a dollar bank account maybe when you withdraw your money in paypal thru your dollar bank account. It will appear dollars not in pesos but applying dollar account in our country is need a thousands dollar to get one. If you can provide that dollar money then its no problem.

Hello bashabasha and boylopez. I already have a dollar account but haven't checked yet if it would receive a peso deposit if in case paypal converts it to peso. But I had a good suggestion from one of the posters here. I'll try each and see which works. Thanks for sharing.

It will be a dollar once it is still in Paypal but once you withdraw the money to EON or Unionbank then it would be converted to Philippines pesos. There is no exemption here I guess...

Yeah. That's the issue. Will just have to contact paypal if there's any option.

I don't know how it's done in your country. But, if I withdraw in India I get the money in Indian Rupees only. Though it appears in dollars on paypal, while transferring to bank it automatically converts into INR. Somewhere I read that you have to maintain dollar account with your bank, if you withdraw from paypal. I'm not sure whether it's true, but I read here in mylot long back.

I have opened a dollar account but the instructions in paypal is that we should use a local bank account and they will convert to the currency of that country. Why do you think they don't just ask for a dollar account? My assessment is that many cannot afford opening a dollar account. However, they should have an option whether to receive in dollar or in the currency of the country. Cheers!!!

First, check Paypal rule about withdrawal issue in your country. If Paypal rule allow to withdraw your money without converting, you should contact their admin regarding this issue. Secondly, check your bank rule about different currency in your bank account. If your bank allow you to have different currency in your account, you need to contact paypal admin and confirm this rule. If not, find other bank who had special rule about different currency deposit. Open your account in that bank and change bank preference in your paypal account. Once again, you must confirm with paypal about this and ask them to pay you in dollar (if rule allow it)

Hello Olleenz. I'll check if my dollar account would accept other currency. I just hope that when I transfer the money from paypal to the bank, there would be lesser charges. Thanks for the two-steps suggestion. It is well thought of. Have a great day!!!

That's my problem also but I think you need to notify paypal about this so that they may not automatically convert the payment...

good day snowhybiscuis, with reference to your concern, perhaps, it will be better to write a letter addressed to paypal admin so you can get a clear view and response to your query. for sure they can help you and provide the proper solution to that. as they will really help you thru since they have a better customer service as i have experienced.

Hello airasheila. I'll do that. The reason why I opened a dollar account is to receive my pay in dollar rate. So far, with oDesk, it's not an issue. Only with paypal. Many of my employer pays me through paypal. So I guess I really have to find means on how to make it work. Thanks and best regards to you.
