2012.....looking forward to a year of changes

There are a lot of things that are going to change for me this year. Actually considering hanging up my firefighting helmet, for good, this year. Wanting to get my scrapbooking business up and going, and plan some scrapbook retreats and day crops. I am also considering moving....maybe new town, new scenery! And do a lot more traveling, this year. Have you had a year, or is this your year, that you just made up your mind things were going to be different and it was time for a big change? Please share and let us know, how it turned out, or how you hope for it to turn out.

I have no plans as of yet. In the past I have made resolutions and I have never really been able to follow through with them. I think this year I am just going to go with the flow and see what happens.

Long time no see LongHorn!!!! I have many hopes for this year. I've been employed for the past year by a work from home call center called American Support. I actually will be celebrating my year's anniversary tomorrow, which is the first time in my life that I will have actually had a job for a whole year! This alone has me looking forward to many things this year. I am currently looking for a house to rent in my city, which will be great. I will be getting a sizable tax return (well, bigger than I have ever had lol) which will give me the means to move forward on the business idea that I am working on. I am also looking forward to being with the man that I have loved for the past 6 years....not in marriage, but being together will be a big step for us as well. 2012 is looking very bright for me!

Good luck!! Sounds like you are going to have an amazing year! I worked for a call center from home years ago, and would love to do it again, but haven't found one that is actually legit! lol

OMG!!! I have MISSED you! I know you are just up the road, but I was through Brownwood last spring and would've loved to have connected! Lessee... Last year I bought a new (used) car, paid off my house and got it in my name. This year I have had to redo my house some and take in another stray - human this time... Last year I lost 4 cats, this year I've already lost another. Yeah, I know, that's down 5, but I'm only down 3 from my max number and would really like to get it lower, but not the way I've done it. Let me know if you are planning a day trip (or longer) to Austin, I'd love to meet ya!

Missed you too!...would have loved to meet up, but last spring was just the beginning of a very longggg fire season for us. Sorry to hear bout the cats, but great to hear about your new car and getting the house paid for. I got a new vehicle last August, a 2009 Rav, absolutely love it! Gets fantastic gas mileage and lots of room. Will let ya know when/if I head that way.

I think that the new year is the best time to be able to make a change, as the fact that it is a new year makes it very significant for everyone involved. It is a clean year and a fresh start for you, so it is the best time to make any resolutions. I have been losing weight since January 2011 and have lost 81 pounds so far. It is my aim this year to reach a healthy BMI, and I would need to lose another 6 pounds to be able to do this. I know that I will get there, and will hopefully be able to get fit as well but I wish to take one thing at a time really.

Good job! I know you will reach your goal. I know how it is, at beginning of 2004 I weighed a lil over 300 lbs, I'm only 5'3"! I am now 1/2 that size!! and it is great! As my daughter put it....there is nothing that tastes that good... as looking in the mirror and seeing the difference and the big difference in clothes size! Good luck!

2011 was the year of the storm for me. All kind of bad things happened. I lost my job, then my apartment, nearly was thrown out of school, hit with 3 lawsuits, and because I was dealing with all of that, my health took a beating. I lost 50 pounds without trying, but I was constantly sick, tired, and weak. Somehow, I managed to fight all of the fights I had to take on. The only good thing was that I was able to buy a car so I could find work. 2012 is going to be different because no matter how it turns out, I want to be in the drivers' seat. While I am still unemployed, I am working on several things right now. The first is finishing a book I have been working on, work on my drawing skills. Though I am in school for an art major, I am heavily considering coming out of school. The semesters that I have gone, I have barely made it through, with each semester becoming more stressful. Also, I am not seeing the progress that I was seeing, and with the changes to school, it is going to be harder for me to finish. I have also been weighing in on the possibility of moving to another state. I'm 31, and I don't have anything to show for any success. Some of my friends move to other states and are doing far better. ABout my health, I think the best way to combat the issues with my health is going back to an old hobby of mine: weightlifting. I enjoyed growing bigger, stronger, and piling on muscle, and this is the time for me to go back to it. Also, I have never been in a relationship before because I was such a workaholic, and thought I couldn't take care of anyone. But now it is past time to try my hand at dating. The issue will sort themselves out. This loneliness stuff isn't working anymore.

Sorry to hear about last year, but it is now in the past! Sounds to me like you are now IN the driver's seat, and taking control. Good luck with all that you have planned and to a lot less stress this year.Good luck on the dating hope it works out as well, just remember, not every date is going to go as 'planned' and don't just 'settle' for the first thing that comes along, give it a little time.

Thanks for the encouragement. My friends, family, enemies, co workers all wondered when I will find someone. They have given up on me, but I don't think they will be able to handle if I actually found 'the one'.

I've stopped saying i'm going to... because I always end up failing if I promise myself to change. If I want to change something bad enough, it will happen without me making a concious effort to do so. At least, that's how I have always seen things. And, my changes I've made over the years were ones that worked because I stopped trying so hard. Change comes, if you let it come.

That sounds so great. I'm really happy for you. I hope that you are able to do all the things you would like to. It is so wonderful when we are able to set goals, do new things and see the wonderful results of our plans. I'm still trying to get plans together for so many things that I want to do. It at times is hard though because there are so many things that I would like to do but there is only twenty four hours in a day. So I will continue to make my goals and plans a matter of prayer, and try to do reach goals that are achievable and that would be something I enjoy

Hello palonghorn! This year, I am trying to loose weight. A lot of people are already saying that I am getting fat now. I don't want to get fat so I hope I could loose some extra weight. Second, to earn more money online. My salary from my full time job is not enough to buy all the things I want to have such as house and lot. I guess this is a great opportunity to earn some income. Third, to be a better person. I am not promising but I am trying. Happy mylotting!

Similarly, the year 2012 is likely to be most awesome for me. In its beginning I have purchased a new vehicle, gadgets etc. and believing that some awaiting wishes will be fulfilled in this year. By God's grace, all things will be positive.

Hi and a happy day to all! 2012 will be a challenging year for me. It starts so good so im looking forward for better things. I am in a new country this year, will be planning to get a new work, new environment, new more friends in life. I am with my husband and i am really hoping things will turn out great and who knows we can get a car and a new house someday too!. We are actually renting a small flat, but we are not into poverty. So that is also a blessing for us. We have many plans in the future and it makes me so happy. Enjoy your day.
