Do you know that there are no female angels?

Contrary to the beliefs of most religions, our Church believes that angels are all male because of the following: 1. There are no mention in the Bible of angels with feminine names. Could you cite a Biblical verse that mentions of an angel with a feminine name? 2. Job 38:7 of King James Bible mentions of sons of God who shouted with joy as God creates the universe. In Hebrew, the word "sons" refer to Hebrew word "ben" meaning son. See http://concordances.org/hebrew/1121.htm Can you cite Biblical verse that contradicts with such assertion?

That's a shocking and sad news!!I'm a guy so I may be disappointed. But then again, when we are in heaven, I don't think it would matter anymore. They won't be any social statues. No gender difference. On the part where you said the word " sons" refer to Hebrew word " Ben " meaning son, doesn't really stats that angels are all male though. For example mankind. Mankind includes both male and female right? Though, it's stated clearly that it's Man- kind. So yea. :D ( there is no pc in heaven, one thing for sure :p )

The word "mankind" does not really connote gender because it is a collective noun. The word "sons", however, is not.

Take into account Matthew 22:30

@peavey: The Biblical verse you mentioned does not indicate that angels have no gender. The comparison made by Christ is: Just like angels, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. The characteristics of angels of not marrying or be given into marriage will be similar to people in the after life.

mhmmmm i see, but i dont believe every single detail in the bible. To my own belief. im not saying the bible lies so dont get me wrong. but i do believe that angels are both female and male. I mean when i was a kid i was taught when you go to heaven you become an angel. So to believe that, then you would also have to believe either one of three things. 1) females dont go to heaven 2) females have no soul 3) females are turn into men but then again who am i to say other wise. we will all find out sooner or later right ^^

Please note that the issue at hand is whether there are female angels or otherwise. The ability/entitlement to go to heaven is not based on gender. God wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4), and if He wants all that means male, female, homosexuals and bisexuals. Believing in male angels only does not relate to either of the three things you mentioned. Human beings are physically and spiritually different from angels. You said you were taught that when you go to heaven you become an angel. The Bible does not condone such belief. Human beings who will be able to attain the promised eternal life in heaven will be clothed with a glorified body similar to Christ when He ascended into heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:1) It's high time that we question validity of what we were taught as these should conform to Biblical truths. (1 Corinthians 4:6; Ephesians 4:14; Colossians 2:8)

@Sabado: 1) Angels do not get married or reproduce -- True, Matthew 22:30 2) Angels are not regarded as either male or female -- False, otherwise, they won't have any name. But lo, the Bible mentioned of Gabriel and Michael. 3) No one has witnessed their creation -- False, Christ whom God has begotten is a witness of all His creations. (John 1:3) 4) Angels are unseen -- True, Hebrews 1:7

I don't think so, dilrajj. Why would there be an interest-topic in religion/Christianity if we cannot discuss things such as this?

I'm not sure if there are no female angels but whether they are female or male they are all made by the Lord to protect us.. :)

That's right, mhimi, angels are made to protect BUT brace yourself, not all have angels. "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" --- Hebrews 1:14 Angels are only commissioned to protect those who are worthy of salvation. Since not all people are worth saving, not all have angels to protect them.
