Are you agree with me? Facebook should demand the birth proof of new user

Now lots of teenager write their false age in facebook and create an account and misusing it. Some students start the affair on facebook and if breakup then they commit suicide. I think gmail and facebook should provide the rule to upload the birth proof. May be any license, elections card, college card, Leaving certificate. But they should start the rule.

Hi sis!! How are you?? Hope you are fine~(^^) It is a good idea but I wonder if it will solve the problem as you know kids~ They are so cunning and so good when it come to cheating and tricks. No matter how many times I said that facebook are not for kids under age but my niece and nephew are still ignore it and have one for themselves. Tell you that I don't like them to havea facebook account at all in their age as I can see the result for it- they demand and want things like what their friends have, comparing lives and get sad that they are not born that way, wanted to use the computer more just for facebook and the most annoying act is they always assumed people who are using laptop are browsing facebook and not doing anything else. It really annoyed me when every time me or other adults get in front of the laptop the kids will come and try to peep and if they failed to see what we are doing they will said,'you are facebooking, huh??' I just feel like to smack them whenever when they say that.(^^)

I don't think that making people prove their ages and identities will make a bit of difference in the long run. If Facebook started requiring people to upload documents, everyone would simply find another site to use--one that didn't make them upload anything to use the site. Honestly, the problem isn't that Facebook doesn't have an age verification system. The problem is that parents are not properly supervising their kids' internet use. They don't know what sites their kids are visiting or who they're interacting with online, and they should.

I kind of have to agree with you, I was shocked when I saw my niece at the age of 9 with a FB account and now a days you see that occuring more and more often. There are so many predators out there, that it is scary. I think that FB should add something in order to prevent minors 15 years of age or younger from opening accounts. I have seen some scary things in FB and I have a daughter and just the thought alone scares the jesus out of me.

I guess it is more on self discipline and netiquette. It is on how you use the website, how you create your profile and how you socialize on it! It is more on parental guidance and self responsibility!

Yes amny instances like that, but if they will need proof for sure people will no longer used facebook, and only those who can provide them.I think people wont waste time to upload and scan proof.they better find another website.Facebook will loose lot of user or viewer if thats the case

I think that you're quite right, and it would also be good because it would require for more people to work for Facebook, which would mean more people being able to get jobs from the company. In addition to this, there is a reason that you're not supposed to be on social networking websites until you're a certain age, including the fact that you may be targeted by criminals and also you're not old enough to be reading everything that might go on in such an environment. Making sure that people's ages are checked would be a good step towards making it a better place for everybody.

I disagree. People should be smart enough to only add the people they know for sure to be, well, people. It would be very neo-nazi-ish for the government to start intervening with Facebook like that. People just need to be smarter about their online affairs and whatnot.

Insisting on these proofs will hamper the growth of cyberworld. Further verifying them will again be a problem. You need a lot of people to manage the show.

I agree. I've noticed there are a lot of teenagers on facebook under the age limit they require. My sister in law is one of them she is 14 and uses her facebook to post pictures of herself which I think are inapporiate. But I also have to say it wont be hard for underage teens to get past the age requirement using someone elses id.

I think its the parents job to keep theyre child from the sites that require an age limit. I mean if they see the child on facebook and the child is 12, the parent should bann the site from the child. but then again you have to take the site into consideration, how many people will sign up for the site if they know they have to prove there birth. its a hassel many people wont go through
