What would you make in Easter baskets?

I am felting small animals and maybe making finger puppets to put in my son's Easter basket. He's too young this year for the Easter bunny but I think he'll enjoy a hunt so I'm going to put these items into plastic eggs for him to find. What small easter crafts have you made?

Probably the best was tiny chicks, knitted and stuffed, believe it or not. They were so cute. I made an Easter egg and a bunny that sat on dowels and pushed into an Easter basket, like those plastic decorations they put in bouquets. These were made of plastic canvas. I still use them in the big basket for the table.

tiny chicks? I found a crochet pattern for an egg cozy. Will keep hunting for knitted little chicks.

As much as I love doing crafts, I can honestly say that I've never made any small toys for the kids to find in their eggs on Easter. Instead, we will make a variety of different crafts with the children to celebrate Easter and the coming of spring. One of my favorite things to do with them is to make small Easter baskets and also to make small planters decorated to look like bunnies for them to grow a few seeds in them.

Planters are a nice way to celebrate the beginning of spring and to learn about gardening. he's a bit young for that right now, but it's a great idea for a child.
I'm just trying to avoid too much chocolate. At Hallowe'en, because he had a bag, I had friends and relatives give him fruit or books. He got a few candies from neighbours but was more interested in the cars his grandfathers put in the bag.

For some of the holidays, it's the chocolate that is the nicest addition.

I think I've done those too - they used a teatowel and two washcloths, maybe? I did them with my sisters, maybe one of them remembers.

We were either in small apartments or on the road so things like "easter baskets" had to be useful. I couldn't give the kids the basket and then the stuff inside as what do you do with the basket? I couldn't tell them they had to throw them away as we didn't have room for them. So I made other things the "basket". My daughter...a new purse filled with the easter grass and goodies. My son...a toy dump truck for the basket and things like that. The "basket" was usable afterwards and they got their easter basket and could eat it too!!
I also, put in a new toothbrush and travel size toothpaste in every basket!

Fun! I could pick up a toy dump truck for him to put the things he finds in.
We are in a small apartment, but I store things like these at my mother in law's
