January 24, 2012 The day Tita Dahl cried Everyone has a favorite aunt. I have 2. The first one's Tita Dahl, my mom's youngest sister. She was a very important part of my life when I was growing up, after all, she did become our babysitter. And then there's Tita Bing, my Tito Larry's wife, who fusses over everyone from the minute she wakes up to the time she's asleep. She always tries to make sure everyone's eaten or done something productive for the day. When she gets mad, she can be like a volcano but underneath that tough exterior, she's a real sweetheart. This entry is about Tita Dahl. Tita Dahl loves to cook and feed everyone and make sure everyone's comfortable. She was already a mother even when she didn't have her own kids yet and I think that's why she's like that. She'd be tough one second and a real softie the next but I have never seen her cry. Never. Until this morning. Seeing her vent out her frustrations through tears really shook me. How could a woman with this much strength shed so much tears just by telling me a story of how everyone seemed to be against her? How could anyone be aganst her? She's always been great company to be with. It just makes me sad to think that anyone would ever try to hurt her feelings. I wish everyone would just realize that it's better to have Tita Dahl as her ally and not her enemy. After all, she can be really, really scary when she's mad. And that's from first hand experience. If you donn't wanna get chased from the third floor of your house down to the first floor and until the next street corner with a broom in her hand, you better behave. And if you take your afternoon nap like she tells you too, pastries magically appear on the table when you wake up. Yep, Tita Dahl is the best and I hope to never see her cry again.
