Hi there people, Were there times that you were in a beautiful place and you have your cheap camera on hand and then an eagle or anything fascinating passed by and you took a shot of it while it was in steady mode and then is gone immediately and you were saying to your self good thing i have a camera on hand then you take a look the n you see it blurred and it is not the camera yet it is your hands, what do you do or say?

you should have use the sports mode in your camera... it won't be that blurry if the shutter speed is very fast like what the sports mode offers. even if your hands are shaky but if the shutter is very fast then you won't have that blurry photograph... but there are also other variables that could affect the photograph... may be you use an ultra zoom that your camera offers... most point and shoot cameras offers this... but the things is it affects the photograph even if you are using a tripod for the shot... it just it alters or pixilate the photograph even if it's above 12mp... most of us... if we use a point and shoot we never use the zoom of the camera but rather go closer to our subject. in that way we won't have that altered photographs.

glad that i help you some how... just make sure that it's still bright when you use the sports mode or your photographs will look dark... and make sure the subject is still lit so you won't have a silhouette. by the way your filipino pala! more pinoy now a days are like too into photography...

It is interesting to read your views on photography. I think photograph helps us to keep in memory all the past engagement. Come to think of it, we can now stock our wedding photos, etc

I think some of the cameras today are so small and light you do tend to move the camera a lot, this happens with my small camera, but with my big SLR it doesn't seem to happen as much.

Many times I do not have a camera and can only take the image in my mind. Clear shots are really lovely there is little doubt about that. I have seen shaky pictures though that have a certain atmosphere to them though we aim for quality. It is like black and whites or even old photos on slate, they have character. Take another look at what you have before deleting it?

I would not suggest a tripod for moving action instead use a mono-pod Its a bit easier to maneuver and 1/100th the set up time because its always ready to set down. Not to mention most of us just need that little bit of help and that will most likely be your best option. Tripods are good if the objects you are photoing are standing still or requires little movement.

I have done that before but thanks for the tip anyway, with most of the suggestions here the best thing to do is buy a more powerful camera, thanks duke.

I have always loved taking pictures and viewing both pictures others have taken and artwork as a whole. However, my hands are always unbelievably cold, clammy, and shaky, so I myself am usually not able to take very good pictures. My only real solution to this is to have other people take pictures for me (usually my girlfriend or a family member). I'm just hoping I don't end up with Parkison's or something serious like that.

Sometimes with cheaper cameras if something is moving it will blur...You may want to tri using a tri pod that way you arent holding it so it isn't moving. Sometimes when I am taking pictures I move as well. It's a bummer especially if it is something I really wanted a picture of.

I think you should get a DSLR. It will be better to capture photos. I am now using DSLR, Sony A350. It is not a professional camera but it still works better than normal camera. In DSLR, you can adjust a lot of things such as aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation and etc to capture the effects you want.

I have one camera that is super sensitive to shakes. If I breathe wrong while taking a picture it blurs everything out. It's better with the flash on but the flash is not always appropriate. I dealt with it by buying a new camera. HAHA

I like taking pictures too especially the nature and the people around.I also have the same dilemma of having a shaky hands when taking picture especially when just using one hand that makes the picture blurred and quite funny.

hmm, after seeing the shaky picture, i would be somewhat frustrated. but then again, if you plan to take beautiful sceneries or pictures in motion. Etc eagle, it would be best if you buy a more professional camera. No harm to get one. Good camera brands would be Nikon,Cannon or Olympus. If you plan to buy a new camera which is reasonable, but good ( recommended ) it would be Cannon PowerShot SD870 IS. To know more check it out here www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_sd_series/powershot_sd870_is Hope this helps.

@deodavid -When your hand and arm tends to shake a bit while shooting photos with a lightweight camera (particularly if the camera has a fairly slow shutter speed) you can use a weight on your wrist to dampen the shaking and steady your camera. Tie a string onto the weight and slip the string's loop over your wrist. Also, don't jam you finger onto the shutter button. Squeeze down onto the shutter release slowly and evenly so as not to "jerk" the camera while shooting the photo. -Gus-
