I have a hard time bathing or showering my cats. It's very difficult to make them silent. I saw on tv, other people do not have hard time bathing their cats. Do you a way how to bath or shower cats safe and easily?

First, to save you from too much blood shed, DON'T use the shower on your cat. The sound of the water imitates the sound of a snake in the cat's mind. When you're bathing them, put a towel in the bottom of the tub or sink first and foremost as it gives the cat a good footing. Then don't over fill the tub or sink so that they don't feel that they need to swim. Use warm water (kind of like the temp you would use for bathing a baby) and soap designed for animals (NOT people soap or shampoo). Then, make sure that their head isn't involved in the bathing process. I cover their eyes when I rinse the shampoo off their fur. Don't use the faucet or spray attachment to rinse them it sounds like a snake to them. Use a cup or plastic glass to pour water over them gently. Once you're finished towel them off, but don't blow dry them. Always make sure that where you give them a bath is warm and they finish drying in a warm place. It's easy for them to get sick if they get bathed and then are in a cold place. It takes a little while but once they get used to it they will enjoy the bath. After you give them a bath, give them a treat and plenty of praise. Make bath time enjoyable to them. Also talk to them and reassure them that everything is okay and that the bath won't last too long. Even if you talk to them about the weather, it's the sound of your voice. Don't yell or talk loudly but low and reassuring tones so that they don't hear any stress in your voice. Don't bathe them too often though. Once or twice a month is sufficient. If you need to clean dirt off them in between, use a damp wash cloth and wipe them clean. Towel dry them when you're done and again give them a treat and plenty of praise to reinforce the positive aspect of being groomed.

One other thing about bathing your cats and what you've seen on TV. The cats on TV usually have been being bathed since they were very young kittens so that the groomers can handle them easily when they are much older. There is also dry cat shampoos that you can use on the cat rather than frequent baths.

You should've started bathing them while they were still kittens, you won't have a hard time when they get used to it. I bathe mine every other day, and they only start meowing when it takes a bit too long for them. :)) As of now try bathing them with little of water involved lol, I mean like wiping them with wet towels and sprinkling little by little and use warm water but not so warm but not lukewarm :)) Based on experience they are hating water 'cause it's cold.

Hello Yheart...:) So do I. My cats don't like it when I get them to shower. They'll run and start meowing and sometime hurt my hand. Cats don't like water, after bathing them they'll run to the ground under the sun heat and rolling their body. I don't have any trick to bath them yet
