We are too afraid to embark on an adventure, especially involve with your own money. We also too afraid of fail, if that doesn't work out. In business, we either succeed or fail, but hopefully we want to go through hard working process to gain something at the end, earning a profit. A friend of mine actually a daredevil himself, why not give it a try as he said. Now, he has a business in party clowning; transportation service, like driving a limo; and funeral home service. Besides it, he has a day time job, a permanent one to provide stable income. Although all of his business weren't a big success yet, I admire his entrepreneurial spirit though. I think that is what drive our economy at the backbone.

There is nothing wrong with him trying to make extra money and for striving to make a better life for himself. There are lots of people in this world that do the same thing.

Good for your friend, he is wisely making use of his spare time! :) My wife and I are actually doing some small business of our own aside from our day job. We are dealers of a health product and so far, everything seems to be OK. The product is easy to market and sell. We both do not want to work until our old age so we are starting to gain experience and knowledge so that one day, we could start a business that is truly ours. You should also try venturing to business. Even if it is a small one, you'll surely learn from it and it can blossom to a bigger one someday :)

The problem with a lot of people are two fold. For one, a lot of people are just afraid to a paralyzing extent of any type of failure. Not realizing that they can learn from it. So they play it safe, play it so they can survive. Which can lead to a life, but not something that might be all that fulfilling. And then there are those people who are told by others that their ideas, their dreams are unrealistic and impossible. I think if you have something that you might think could be intriguing, you should go for it. Of course, not many have ideas, never mind good ideas. There are just a lot of people who are willing to just ride the waves, and just see wherever life is going to take them to. But if there were not people willing to take risks, then a lot of things that we have today, would not be things we would have today.

If you want to take a risk or embark on an adventure, like you mention, you do need own money. The thing is that most people don't have own money anymore. Do you have any idea how many people are without savings, how many poor people there are more each month? How it is to live on the street? It's easy to say if you are rich but most people are far of rich. So if they have money it's already an adventure to buy a car or washingmachine and to hope it's not broke within 1 year time. There is nothing to admire about your friend, it's easy talk of a rich man.
