All Pigs Can Fly.

Last time we had a discussion in class. And an argument was said.
`All pigs can fly'
If you were ask by that what would you answer? By just common sense pigs has no wings therefore they can fly unless they made one. lol.So, answer would probably be FALSE. But our teacher argue.
"If you say that all pigs can't fly, have you seen all the pigs? Have you been in different areas with different kinds of pigs? " Now, you answer.
It is just a logic but for me there's a sense from it. Its like 'to see is to believe'.
After that discussion it makes me wonder if aliens really exist. Well, to see is to believe, right? (comment to this alien thingy in my other discussion) :D

I think its just a logical question, just like ....
If I have 5 apples in a basket and there are 5 little girls that wants to eat apple how will I divide the apples to the little girls but still leaving 1 apple inside the basket? ... You would then think to cut the apples in half and give it to the girls but there will be lots of sliced half apples left if you do that...So the answer would be I would give the 4 apples to the 4 little girls and give the remaining apple inside the basket to the 5th girl with the basket, there you have it 1 apple inside the basket. 
Myzhian's analysis is actually correct ... in order for a pig to fly you need to put them in a plain or a hot air balloon( they are above the ground so they are technically flying/floating ).
its scary/bizarre if there is an actual flying pig...it would be over the whole TV and news...

Hahaha I would answer the same thing. False. We all know that pigs cannot fly. But he argumentation is valid but not in a logical sense. Let's just say it is valid for the sake of conversation..
Yeah, makes me wonder too if aliens are real. The earth is just a tiny dot in a galaxy and there are other galaxies out there so it is a possibility that other forms of life are also out there in the universe

Maybe your teacher got mixed up with the sarcastic comment of " yeh pigs might fly"... this is a comment made by someone when someone says something that just is not going to happen so that is when someone else can come in and say "yeh pigs might fly"...a little bit of funny comment..so maybe there has been a little confusion there...

English speaking teachers would know the proper expression to be, "If pigs can fly?" Its a sarcastic statement that is used to demonstrate an impossibility such as, pigs flying!
"When Hell freezes over! is another sarcasm sometimes used to demonstrate an action that can never happen!

Hello dongjr,
This question or a logical topic is raised by your teacher to find some ways on how a pig could fly and not to search for a pig that flies. It is simple, you'll only going to Analise a certain topic and prove and see how you could justify a topic. Like for example, all pigs can fly if you put them together in an airplane or any areal vehicle. Or just simply name all your pet birds or pigeons PIG and let them flew so that you can say that my pigs flies! Sounds crazy but it is the Irony of the topic ALL PIGS CAN FLY!

I guess it is just a game of words which the teacher played with students.
And the title is so catchy.
On a serious note,you can argue to him/her next time you encounter him by making some technical comments based on biological facts that pigs belong to this class of animal kingdom,and they cant have wings coz they have.....(u have to do some research work).lol.:)
