I just received holiday pictures of an old friend who I had not seen in many years.
She was with her Dad when they posed. She looked good as she always has, but her Dad at 99 looked terrific, he could have passed for 70. It's always an inspiration to see someone like that look that good. Usually someone 99 looks used up.

I have seen a lot of people where my husband works who still look Good in their 80s and 90s, and have known others who look bad in their 50s or 60s. A lot of it is really how a person takes care of one self, and how active they are, When you choose to keep doing things and thinking young you will be young. Most people who think positive while keeping active live much happier healthier lives for sure.

You know, I've never known anyone that was 99 years old, so I really don't have anything to judge against. However, my great-grandmother did live to be in her mid-nineties before she passed away and I always thought that she looked really good for her age. Yes, she was a hateful person in many ways, but I really do think that she was a really pretty woman all the way up until she passed away. I will still look at pictures of her from her later years and she is still beautiful to me.

We look young for our ages in my family until we become ill. When my Dad needed a triple bipass, he aged before, during and after. My Mom aged every time she had cancer. I'm watching myself age quite a bit these days.
I saw someone on tv who was over 100 and she looked like she was a couple decades younger, too. Must have some terrific genes these people!

Hi savypat, A couple of weeks ago I was watching the local news and a 104 year old man (a retired medical doctor)was being honored for his years of service to the community. I was amazed that he was even able to be there for the ceremony, but he actually looked well. He got up from his seat and walked up to receive the award. I guess there are some who handle old age better than most. Blessings.

That's great. There is a lady I know and I always think when I see her that I hope when I am her age that I will be half as active and beautiful as she is. Her personality is incredible...she is so full of life. She isn't 99 but I bet she will be one of those like that man.

There are those people that no matter how old they get, they always look good. I have an aunt like that. She was always a very good looking woman, and now even at 87 she is still good looking. I guess it's in the genes. I doubt very much I will look good at that age, if I make it to that age.

Hi savypat, It always great to see a past person and to see
that they are looking great is wonderful.
Now I don't know "used up" looks like but to be 99 years old
any way they looked is a blessing..Sometimes we tend to
untentionally focus on the things that are not important, like
the way people look, even tho you said he looked good...
But my point that when you reach 99 and aware that you are here
on this earth, Kudos!!! Kudos!!! to them, no matter how they look....
