cooking is an art with a mixture of inborn trait !!

well I am not an excellent cook but what i have learnt i have learnt on my own. but recently i invited few friends on dinner and they just praised me for my cooking. it really feels great when you cook something for someone special and he keep licking his fingers .. how much i have learnt i have realized that cooking is an art and you need to develop skills and practise to excel in receiving appraisal from people for whom you cook. i have never used an cooking book or magazine or internet, the real challenge lies when you have put the right amount of ingredients without compromising with the taste. well in my case i am not flaunting about myself but my first time recipes are always hit. what about you friends??

Hello say and good morning. I believe that good cooking is a learning process. First is learning the basic skills and terms. I do use the internet and cook books and the cooking shows for ideas. I almost always follow a recipe the first time them I just keep the idea n a recipe book. Unless I.m baking I don't follow recipes exact . But for baking cookies cakes and such I do follow recipes exact. Being a good cook is and art and it can be learned as long as you take the time to taste your cooking.

I have learned to cook in part using my imagination and in part using a cookbook as a guide. Even now that I have my own recipes, I ask a book how they would do it, not only to follow them but to discuss the recipe with it

I am glad that you have the art of cooking skills. To be able to come up with recipes on your own is great. I am sure your cooking is exceptional. Continue to keep practicing. I myself, have to use cook books. I do not get very creative in the kitchen. I search for recipes and use them. Safer that way.
