I started making my own video game!

I've had this idea in mind for a long time. Actually, I wanted to make video games since I started playing them. I've had a particular idea for a video game since about a year ago. I never started working on it seriously because of being busy with school examinations, but yesterday I met a friend of mine, who is a video game guru too. We discussed what gameplay features the game could have and decided on some of those. People tell me I'm a pretty good artist (I don't want to look arrogant by just saying "I'm good" ;P), so I used my art skills to make some concept art. We don't have anything fancy in mind, just a simple game. I also did some artwork on the computer. In fact, my image editing software is still open as I'm typing this discussion right now. I can't reveal any of the details now, probably when we finish making most of the game would be the time we reveal some of the deeper stuff about the game. I still lack the programming skills to start working on the project right away, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a complete plan/concept on what I'll work on before I start working on it. It would take quite some time before we build a complete plan on everything about the game. We'll start the actual making of the game at about summer vacation time. I'm not sure how long it would take, maybe months, maybe a year, maybe even more. It depends on how much we'll have to put into the project. I'm not sure if we're going to sell it. I guess this will be figured once we're close to completing the game. It would also depend if we port the game to other platforms, like Android. I just hope everything goes well with the project and that we get to finish it someday. Writing a discussion here about me finishing later is something I really hope could happen. What do you think myLotters? I'll be glad to answer any questions you have on the process of development that we're following. Have a nice day everyone!

Sounds good. I want to be a game developer too. I can program, but I'm not a super good one. I can't really draw, but it is fun to code. I'm a bit curious as to what you are using to make it? Are you using an actual programming language like C++ or something? Anyhow, good luck in your making your game.
