Educational sites

Hello my follow mylotters,
I am looking for some educational sites for my 10 years old to help him with his schooling. He is falling behind in school and I am trying to find creative ways to help him be more interested in learning.
About him:
He is 10 years old, in the 4th grade likes computers and gaming systems. He is having trouble in reading,writing and a little bit in math.
Please any suggestions would be grateful!!

I think going to some educational sites are not that advisable to your 4th grader son. You mentioned that he like computer s and gaming system. I think, you have to teach him proper discipline in using computers. You have to lessen his time of exposure to computers little by little and focus on his study and some physical activities.
Furthermore, having a personal tutor could help him rather that going on educational sites.

Just to add, giving rewards when your son improves his performance could also motivates him in his study.

hello asdomencil,
In the winter it is a little hard for them to go outside and play so I was more wanting these things for the winter time and not the summer time. In the summer they are always outside playing and staying busy. I don't allow him to be on the computer or games all day and night. I am trying to find things to keep him interested in learning and since he likes computers that will help him stay interested. I am also giving him rewards for doing good on test and on report cards.

I see. kidsknowit.com has a wide variety of subject matter. From educational movies to educational music. From math to science. Got to try it.

I think you can look for a video from internet that teaching about his studies. You can find lot of video in internet. But i think if the kid really like to play in computer than to watch educational video, i think you must teach him a good discipline or you can tell him that after he finished his studies and lessons he can use the computer but you should give him time limitation in using computer. Computer is also bad in our eye if we use it for a very very long time so you must not let him use it for a long hour.
