How Uncomfortable Are Thong Sandals

I used to wear them all the time as a kid and maybe I'm just buying the wrong kind these days but the thing that goes in between my toe on the side just bothers me alot. I don't know if I can wear the ones I got the other day, they only cost 99 cents but I did like the way they looked. Is there anything I could put on the thong part so it won't rub too hard against my toes? I hate that feeling when I'm trying to walk, it actually hurts!

Sandals are suitable for short walk only. If you wear them for long walk, it hurts your fingers. For running, shoes are recommended.

Yes, you are right. It hurt my toes, really bad. Now every time I walk out, I prefer wearing shoes. Sandals are worn just when I walk around the yard.

Your fingers? How does that hurt your fingers, I'm sure you meant toes, right?
Well, with that said, yes it does hurt, and I will try only using them for when I go for a short walk instead of a long trip, etc. I can't run very well right now with a hurt toe, and running shoes I already have and before I injured my foot/toe they were very comfy.

Maybe it's better if you don't wear it anymore. It may make you feet ugly due to friction. Next time you buy a new pair of sandals, choose something you know is comfortable.

I don't actually find them uncomfortable! I could walk miles in these bad boys. The ones I do find uncomfortable are the ones with the harder bottoms - like 'nice'/dressy gladiator sandals. Those are uncomfortable (but sooo cute). I have naturally like very very flat feet though so it doesn't bother me that there is absolutely NO support to them. *shrugs* And the little thing between your toes hasn't ever bothered me!

I used to wear them all the time as a kid and they never bothered me. Maybe now I buy the wrong kinds or something. Not sure. I have a pair of those gladiator shoes but they don't have the thong part in them , thank goodness or they would probably be alot harder to walk with.

Hi Nail! I used to get irritated when i wore thong sandals. You may want to avoid those made of rubber.

Hello Grace, how are you doing? Yes the rubber ones could be most irritating to some, but it's the kind that are made of rough material that bother me most. I wanted to choose some kind of shoe that was not rubbing on myother toe cause I have messed it up quite alot with not being careful and ramming it into things so it hurts alot at times, and right now the nail is still purple after about 2 weeks.

yes, you have definitely bought the wrong kind. Perhaps because they cost only 99 cents and therefore the quality and not as good. I have cheap thong sandals as well and compared to the more expensive ones, sometimes, they can get really uncomfortable. i guess it is just how we balance the price and the quality.
You will definitely be able to purchase and find one thong sandals that is cheap yet goood!

I use to hate thong sandals. They do hurt your feet when you first where them. Don;t give up though. The thing to do is to keep wearing them for awhile and your feet won't hurt anymore. Thong sandals are really cute and are such a good price. Just keep wearing them and you will be loving them in no time. I use to think I would never wear them because they hurt my toes. But the pain does go away. By an even prettier pair than your last one and that will help motivate you to keep wearing them.

I still hate them, lol. I will give them a try but if they dig into my foot too much they will have to go. I'm still opting to try out a few other things already mentioned in case they resolve the problem, first. Thanks for the input, have a great mylot day!

Are you referring to flip flops? I'm assuming you are if you only paid 99 cents. I'm trying to figure out why these things are a fad. They are made to where by the pool or by 5 yr. olds. Adults look ridicules wearing those things. Maybe that's why kids today are so dumb. Parents haven't grown up yet.

Yes there are sometimes referred to as flip flops. However, flip flops are usually the entirely rubber or plastic thongs that most people wear to the beach (but can be worn anywhere too). The ones I have aren't rubber and can be used for other places other than the beach such as a party, store, etc. without looking like you just came from the beach. I'm not sure if they make people look dumb or not but they are comfy sometimes. Thanks for the input and opinion.

I don't find them very uncomfortable, but I guess they might take getting used to. I try to only buy the ones that are comfty. Now, if you're going to be on your feet a lot I guess I wouldn't suggest wearing them as obviously most sandals don't have the best support...But I wouldn't call most of my thong sandals (flip flops) uncomfortable! i can't think of anything else you could do except maybe try to buy a better brand of flip flops.

The only problem with the comfy part is I usually don't try them on, I'm only guessing if they will be comfy or not. Another reason why I shouldn't buy the dern things. When will I learn. Oh well I guess after this discussion I will have had enuff of it all, that'll teach me. "NO MORE THONGS, NAILTECHIE."

Well i know something about the thong sandels. I actually wear them almost everyday too LOL. I will letyou in on alittle secret you cant buy the sandales that have the plastic piece for the thong part in between your toes. That will hurt your two toes really bad and you dont want that at all. Now you can buy the ones taht are the rubber in between your toes and you will be fine and it wont hurt. Now if that still hurts i suggest getting the things you buy for corns on your feet and you can actually wrap that around the center piece and i have done that on a pair for me taht was uncomfrotable and it helps some and you can try that too. Have a great day mylotting.

Oh I never thought of that for the corns, I have never used them though. I guess I'll have to invest in them though and try it out. It is worth the try, thanks lologirl! If it's like a little cushion or something to that nature then I'm sure it will help.

No doubt I did, LOL. I will go and see next time about the right ones and spend a few more bucks. I was not thinking of how they would feel, there was no way I could try them on before I bought them either. I will just end of giving them away I suppose if no one else wants to buy them anywhere.

I think it goes for any shoe. It has to feel right and the material has to not cause a problem. The trouble is we can look for them based on price, that works many times but I think sometimes it is just the way they are made. Since every person is different not every one will be the fit. I hate when I try something on and find later on that it isn't the one. When I was young I would barefoot it more.

Yes, it does go for any shoe, you are right. I have other shoes that are a size too big or smaller than I normally wear and they all fit me, the ones that don't I try to resell or give away. No use in keeping them, really. I have too much stuff to do that anyways.
