There are so many good mangas out there will make good anime or even live action but they have to be popular to come to life. I am kinda wondering why some popular mangas never had an adaptation as anime nor as a live action. Some of them were wrote by renowned manga artist who have works that has been adapted into anime. Me being unhappy with the new anime we are having today, wonders, why so many Good mangas never had an anime series despite of popularity.

It could be that the manga was not brought up before interested producers or it could simply be that the writer did not think the producers would do a good job in duplicating the story into a live-action or animated show. In the process of changing a manga to a tv series, sometimes some scenes or characters have to be changed or removed and the writer may not be comfortable with such changes.

Directors indeed have the so called artistic pride, They want to change things so they can call it their own. Then some mangakas have artistic pride too, they dont want their story or creation to be changed. I got your point. I remember a certain manga were the character is a highschool student but in the anime adaptation, the character is adult./

I think something similar happened with Dragonball: Evolution. The mangaka agreed to have his manga turned into a live-action English movie but it is said that he too was shocked with how it turned out. Although there are other rumours which say that he only agreed to get the royalty money in the first place and wasn't really particular about how the movie would be. There is one story, Hana-Kimi, that has had more than 1 live-action series made. Some stuck to the story almost word-for-word but the Japanese version was more loose with the story. They had the original characters and problems but the story was made a lot more humourous and a little less romantic. Quite a lot of fans love this version. Although now it is being remade again, maybe to stick closer to the manga this time? To avoid these kind of situations, I suppose if I were a mangaka I would rather my work be left on the pages of a book unless I had absolute faith that the story would not be drastically changed or that I would have a say in how the live-action would be filmed.

I remember Hana-Kimi having a Taiwanese adaptation, that version is more successful than the Japanese version I think. I think Mangakas should be givenc reative control for their works so their masterpiece wont be ruined. There are anime versions though that is better than the manga. That Dragonball movie is so annoying, They turn Goku White (with the excuse he is an Alien, what Asian actors cant be Aliens?) Then he turned him into a geek being bullied as school. Goku is not a geek he is illeterate, he never goes to school. Making him go to school ruined his Mythos.

even if these mangas have good story but if they're not that popular like dragon ball then probably it won't be adapted into anime.

There are actually very popular manga that never had a chance to be anime cos the mangaka refuses.

actually anything Asian or Even European made to Hollywood is awful but when something foreign is created it has to be Hollywood remaked first. Hollywood dont want Americans to learn how to read subtitles.

But if the reader want it very much... May be the mangaka will change his mind... Manga to anime is good... But manga or anime to English movies is bad no even worse...
