hi there lucas818, My bf is from Uk and im from philippines. And this February 14 (tomorrow) is our 1st valentines. Well a long distance relationship is hard as you miss your love one. But a long as we communicate each other everyday by txt, email, letter and chatting makes those thousand miles away is not really a problem.

Currently I'm in penang, malaysia; and she's in China. We're working at two different countries. It's something like 1100++ miles and 4 hours flight, lesser than yours. Haha.. Thank you! I feel so good after I see the responses, comments from you & all myLotters here!

Hello novelcai, Mine is a thousand miles as well... :D Let's cheer to that! We do communicate to each other daily, but everytime I feel that it's not enough. I always looking forward to the other day, so that the day we can meet each other will come sooner. Happy Valentine!!

Last year I sent a card it never arrived. This year I will be there (leave at Febr. 13) I will also take mail with me from people living in the Netherlands who have a friend or lover or husband in Africa. It is not a real celebration in my country nor in Africa, so I won't take a present or so with me or won't make a special day out of it.

Well that day is not in our head and I am happy for it. Ofcourse the shops over here (the Netherlands) start with it too because everybody likes to sell and they will take every opportunity they can. Over here it's holiday again (some part of the country carnaval starts right after, other parts of the country call it the spring holiday).

Hi Lucas! You can do a search of the internet to find companies that will deliver gifts for you. I live in the U.S. and my girlfriend lives in Spain. I send her flowers all the time so I'm covered there. Also, you can always mail her but make sure you do it well enough in advance. If I wanted to mail something to Spain and have it arrive on-time for Valentine's day, I would have to have mailed it two weeks ago! Cheers, Stan

Whether you are far or close after all Love is love and do you know when your loved partner is far away then your love become more attractive and important to each other. So don't be sad even your lover will be missing you a lot

With the level of technology we are in right now I don't think that being in long distance relationship is a hindrance. as compared way back before that we can only communicate through mails that would take days, weeks or even month to receive. Now with the help of internet anything is possible. you can send flowers, chocolates or gifts to your love ones wherever they are through ordering online, you can send video clips of your pictures together. You can even do the video chat through social networks, skype, ym to name a few.

There is really nothing better than to communicate with them on that very special day!

Why should Valentine's Day be special? I don't think any religion says it should be so (except that some obscure Pope honoured a somewhat fictional person by making him a saint). Yes, there are many ways in which you can make the day special for you ... but most importantly, for your significant other. The most important thing is to do something surprising, something which really shows how much you care and which is something you wouldn't normally do. That is ALL the help that anyone can give you, because if it doesn't come from you ... if it's something that you borrowed from somewhere or someone else, the 'magic' doesn't work. Go figure!

I think that any long distance relationships are difficult but at this time of year they can be even harder because of the obvious pressures to do with the romance that's supposed to be around at this time. You should send her some flowers so that she knows that you've been thinking about her while you're away. This will be romantic, and she will appreciate the effort. If you can, you should also video call her as this means that they will be able to see each other's faces, which is good because you will obviously be missing each other.

You could send her something in the mail, like a care package of nice things - like chocolates and whatnot. Although it's probably a little late in the game for that, considering Valentine's Day is this upcoming Tuesday! I do think long distance relationships must be tough, and it's kind of sad to think about not being able to see someone who would, in a normal circumstance, be so CLOSE to you. I couldn't imagine trying to do that. But more power to the people who are. Maybe you could have a web-cam chatting thing or a good long phone call or something. *shrugs*

Send her flowers and card.Have a date through the net like skype or via video call.As long as you remember and greet each other in Valentines would be special as long as you love each other.

Why not? The whole point of a long distance relationship is that you don't let the 'distance' aspect of it get in the way. You can go for a video chat, try Skype for instance. Chat all you want. You can try a virtual dinner, where you both plan a candle light dinner, you both sit alone in your respective places with the same dish and eat while you speak. Let your imagination run wild!!!

In today's age, technology comes in hand. You can video chat on Valentine's Day. You could send a special letter. I think the letter would mean more because it's hand written and takes more effort. You see their effort with the stroke of the pen. Long distance relstionships must be pretty hard. I don't think I could do it.

Good question. I have a boyfriend far away and we've been together for almost 3 years now. And we haven't met ever, only in camera and we talked everyday. You are right it's really but at the same time exciting. We've been celebrating Vday for almost 3 years now. We buy cakes and our fav food and we celebrate and make wishes, and say what we feel.
