The 'star' rating is your MyLot Reputation. It is determined by the way that other members have rated your posts. You will first see your own star when you reach a User Rating of 100. An explanation of the User Rating and MyLot Reputation is here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx and you can read more about the Discussion Rating System here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx Your 'star' doesn't have any direct effect on your earnings but the Discussion Rating System affects BOTH your earnings and your 'star' value, so it's likely that someone with a low star rating won't have done as well in the past as someone with a higher rating, all other things being equal. The earnings algorithm is very complex, however, and takes many things into consideration. It's best to read the Earnings section in the FAQs to understand better how it works, though essentially, the better the QUALITY of your participation, the more you will earn.

cool, thanks for that, i couldnt see it on the site i should have assumed it was in the FAQ's section. When you state about the better the quality do you mean in terms of length, content or if its grammatical correct.
