weird call

I work in a call center here in Davao City. I have so many weird calls or callers. Today I received a call from John Doe (not the real caller's name). He asked me to update his email address on file. As part of our security process, I asked for his User Question and he answered it correctly. After he provided his email address, I verified the spelling to make sure that I got it correctly. One of the letters is N. I said, is it N for November? He answered, no, it's N for Neri. I paused, smiled, and then I said in my mind, OK!. He then said, do you what's my name? I answered, well, your name sir is John Doe. Then he replied, do you know that he is already dead? So, I asked him, you are not John Doe? He answered, no I am. Then he hung up the phone. That was weird!

ersonally since I work in a Call Center myself taking calls for people needing cabs I can relate with the strange calls from time to time. Are these people like this really that Stupid or do they not think about what they are saying over the phone? And then these are the same type of people who tend to blame us when the information that they are requesting is input wrong is us not them. Makes me wonder sometimes when they ever really THINK?

You know what? I really really agree with you. They blame us for everything. You try to help them with their problem and if they are satisfied with it, they hung up. Then they call again for the same complain. Normally we follow the company policy so they hear the same answer for their complain and when you are firm with your answer, they will call you rude. Anyway, like what they say, it is part of our job especially those working in a customer service. However, customer service on a financial account has limited customer satisfaction. You cannot just give them all what they want. In a day, I cannot count how many times callers call me or us call center agents stupid. Sad and sorry to say that it's actually the other way around.

That is a weird and funny call haha. I do not think he's a prank caller since he passed the security verification. Probably he is family member of the deceased who wants to update the file of his dad or brother maybe. Were you scared when the caller hung up? Though it is a joke, it might send chills to your bones.

Dude, that was scary. I had goosebumps while reading the last part. I would be really speechless if that were to happen to me. Anyways, maybe it's just a prank call? Maybe it's from a caller who's bored so he decided to call your center and make pranks? And even if he sounds serious, who knows, maybe he's good at it.

Yeah, sometimes sarcasm can get weird. I had a call once where I was already asking for further help. The caller replied "Yeah, I'd love a cup of coffee." I got that, but it was still weird... funny weird.

Errrmmm, maybe you were speaking to his ghost? I heard that there are a lot of weird calls for call center agents. I guess it's all part of the job.

Yeah, it's part of the job but lol about the ghost. I haven't experience that in three years in the call center. Other's say that there are really ghost wandering around the company premises

I think so. There are really so many prank callers but that guy sounded so serious. There is something wrong with him.

It is strange to people who are not working with call center firm but for those who are a call center agent. Those calls are seems normal. Am I right? Lot of calls an agent can received everyday which are nonsense but it's a part of their job and you should handle it properly.

The caller might have been someone you know. He was just pulling your leg? Or perhaps someone who is just a jerk.

people who have nothing to do love to make weird things one of it was to make a weird call or to prank people i even received a weird call saying that my application and an interview with my open visa was within a week but i havent applied it and keep saying another name not my name

That is so weird. If was the agent, then I might faint or be scared with the caller. Sometimes, I am really so bothered with the callers, some of them are trying to make fun with us. I think the caller just wanted to make fun with you.

thats weird. I heard a somewhat similar story from a friend who also works in a call center. In her story, there was a voice of an old lady saying "please help me" in the background while she was talking to the caller. I don't know if it's a prank or something but it's creepy.
