I want to Install Ubuntu in my laptop any caution???

guys I have a windows 7 Laptop and now I want to install different drive Ubuntu. then I want to know about if I installed unbent in different drive then it effect in my windows. if not then please also tell me in the future if I want format windows or Ubuntu then it caution any type?

Ubuntu wont effect your windows at all but it will effect your computer, it is a huge program that is like having another desktop on top of a desktop. My parents had it and they used it for awhile but it sucked because they had to open it all the time and they didn't like it.
