Starting my own food business

I'm planning to start my own food business. My plan is to have a sign or small store where I can sell pasta that I can cook. Cooking just a tray of pasta of different kinds first, selling only a serving of it, and then post a sign that I'm accepting orders to sell whole trays. Don't know if it will be effective so I need suggestions on what will be an effective strategy for a begginer like me. Thanks in advance! :D

First, you have to make sure that your pasta is really good. As a beginner, you must know who will be your potential customers, start with your friends. You can have a sample taste test at first. Offer them that you will provide the pasta on their events. That way, friends of your friends will be able to try your pasta and then your market will get bigger and bigger.

I'm glad to see so many good tips on this discussion because I need them too. I'm saving up money and building up my business plan to start my own business hopefully in a year. Only mine will be something like mini doughnuts or hot dogs, something easy that you can eat on the go. My city does not have anything close to what I am planning so hopefully it will be a big hit. My only advice to you is to make sure you don't invest more money than you can afford to loose. Then you will be worse off then when you started.

good day silence777, that is a good start. having a food business will surely love by many. as all people needs to have a food to eat. with your idea, it seems to be perfect. well, i just remember when me and my sister have also planned to have our food business way back many months ago. that we are aiming to have our small food catering business. but apparently, its kind a big one so we just diverted it to a small one like pastries and cakes. in addition, our mom does not believe in our idea and she turn down our offer most of the time, so, we ended up doing our own way such as searching customers and clients. it is somehow difficult for us to know that our mom does not believe on us but, still, we go on and proceed on to our business. and we ended up successfully on the first venture that we have, that we able to sell a lot last christmas season with the cake and pastries that we have initially offered.

If you're currently accepting orders now and getting good amounts orders. I think you should first calculate if you're getting enough orders to at least brake even before you even buy any supplies. After you've done that, I have no idea what you should do. Sorry I can't offer any more advice.
