Here is another case of some people having too much time on their hands... http://news.yahoo.com/rapunzel-number-helps-scientists-quantify-ponytails-125219566.html Heaven forfend scientists should spend their time on something useful, like curing cancer, say.

Ever hear about frogs and boiling water? Someone definitely had too much free time to find that out.

Apparently, if you add a frog to boiling water, it will jump out immediately. But if you put it in water and then slowly bring it to the boil, it will quite happily stay in the water and be boiled alive. How on earth did someone discover that?

Huh? that's about all I can say to that. They must have gotten a grant to spend so much time figuring out something so stupid.

If you find out, let me know. I'm sure there's something I can find an answer for...

Wouldn't surprise me if they had a government grant to fund them. Government grants have been given for stupider things. Or, perhaps, a private company making hair products funding them. I think part of the problem is that these government grants are available and universities want their share of the grant money and they have to keep their professors busy publishing.

Hey, bagarad... where you been? Do you think I could get a grant to find out why the ocean is so close to the shore?

You could always try I've actually been busy on other sites, and I've had the flu for over a week, but I think I'm almost over it. I found a new social network -- a Facebook Wannabe that is like a cooperative. It gives each new member a piece of it that will turn into a share when they go public. If you're interested, PM me. It costs nothing to join. I've also joined a few more writing sites and been making lots of Zazzle products. I'm also trying to list more books on my business web site. Guess what? There are only 24 hours a day.
