Is your freezer just as cluttered as mine is? I have mine stuffed full and should go clean some stuff out but too lazy today. I think some of the things that have expired are is old chicken for one. I hate to throw it out though, but why risk getting sick on it? Do you have a special organization tip for lessening the clutter in your freezer?

Yes it gets to be very obvious after awhile, especially when you can't find a darned thing, I have like several bags of frozen veggies I'd like to finish up before I buy more. I'm working on that this week.

Mine is cluttered too. Before I got my frost-free freezer, it used to get cleaned out every couple of years. Not out of planning, but because the ice inside would build up so much that eventually the door would pop open or something, and I'd have to chuck the contents and de-ice it.

The ice gets to be a problem, I don't wanna cause any of those things you mentioned so cleaning it out abit will probably keep it running better as well.

Frost free is better, but I've got stuff in there that's been there for years. I should have cleaned it out when the weather was below freezing. I could have put the trays outside whilst I was sorting through them.

Wow for years, that doesn't sound very good, best you can throw it all away when you find the time. No telling what kind of illness you can get from food that old. Yes, I like frost free freezers, myself.

I dont consider my Freezer Cluttered. I do think that i need to keep an inventory list of what is in there. Then cross things off as i use them or add things to it as i add more. That way im not buying new when i already have something there.

I just wish I had a bigger storage area for all the things that are in there, I tend to freeze too much anyways though. I buy some frozen dinners, prepackaged things and meats and it's not much else I can put it in there after that. I have to try and reorganize everything again...

Oh, the chystals are completely a big hassle to have in your food when you freeze stuff. The secondary deep freezer for your chicken is a brilliant idea, I eat alot of that too. Its cheap, easy to cook and lots of protein in it.

I have a tip- start throwing junk out!! LOL My freezer is pretty clean actually. We typically eat all (most) the food we buy, and never let anything go past it's expiration date.

LOLO, I did start somewhere, yesterday! I went grocery shopping right afterward and got some new things and now it's almost as cluttered as well as the fridge below it, it's not that I needed that much food either but there's a few others living here with me, so I have to make sure it gets filled with food we all like. I will try and get it used up within a good amount of time, though.
