Have you ever burnt something incredibly easy to cook?

Such as soup? I'm sitting here drinking my tea and was making dinner when I totally got distracted by YouTube &/or MyLot and I totally forgot I was cooking soup in the next room. It had been on there for almost 20 minutes. It was vegetable soup and it kind of burned itself into the pot.
This makes me sad. What kind of future will I have in domestication if I can't even get soup right? I swear sometimes I feel like my brain is hanging upside down...
How about you.... Have you ever burnt something so dumb and easy like SOUP? Or Mac N Cheese? What's your excuse?

Haha! You should make your kitchen close to everything then! Close to the TV, the computer, or anything that keeps you distracted.
Yesterday I had to buy a new pot.
Almost three weeks ago, I wanted to heat some leftover spaghetti. The pasta and the sauce were still in the pot so I thought I'd just heat up the stove for a couple of minutes. It would have saved me from washing another dish if I transferred and heated it up in the microwave.
Anyway, I got distracted, and it burned into the pot. I have been trying to clean it off for 3 weeks, but yesterday I finally gave up and threw the pot out.

Oh yes definitely ... I have burnt easy to cook food not once but thrice. I always think that maggi noodles are easy to make and i earlier couldnt make the sttings proper in the microwave oven which burnt it these many times. But now its all sorted and i am great at it. :)

Yes I burned a hotdog. It was the first time I fry a hotdog without someone looking over me. I put it and it was burning already. SOmebody saw me, and told me I have to lower the fire since the meat inside will still be raw even though it may appear to be already cooked and burned.
I tried preparing fried rice too. And it was a disaster. It looks so different, and it is so salty. I threw it all.

In my personal opinion yes it is very easy to burn thing especially when you have allot of things going on at one time. you see i have two disabled parents that i have to take care of twenty four seven, seven days a week and while i am cooking some times i have to get my boy friend to step in and watch the food while i take care of them. so yes it is very easy to burn something very easy to cook.

this is classic. i did not burn anything except water in a pot. i was trying to boil water. then, i got a call from a friend. i took the call and talked for several minutes until a burnt pot caused smoke all over the room. the pot turned all black. i almost burned the house. i got a lesson from this experience.

Interesting.
I think almost everyone would have done that at one point. It happened many times in my home. Often my wife does it. Instead of switching of the burner, she turns the knob to sim. (She thinks that she's switching it off, but turns the knob other way around.) When there is smoke and smell everywhere she realizes.
This often happens with the milk, particularly.
