People not Understanding the True Meaning of the Words

I have always been interested in the paranormal. All my life, I have been able to see ghost and there are many. I have come across many people, who have misunderstood this. I have studied it most of my life. I have been called every name is the book because of it. I am a very spiritual person. I strongly believe in God. But, it is much more complicated than, just that. I very much enjoyed being called a mystic by my fathers Indian friend. Until, someone old me that, they though mystics were devil worshipers. Has anyone else had thing like this happen to them? How do you deal with people, who don't fully understand the meanings of these words? What do you say to them?

Some people just don't want to understand. I have come to terms with this a long time ago. I was just wondering, if anyone, went through the same things, I did.

I guess the best way to deal with these issues is to meet them and explain the real meaning of the word so that they don't get the wrong idea. You must approach them in a proper manner so not to offend them or to show your disagreement in any means of violence. At the same time, it would be best to bring some dictionaries with you just to prove the denotation from trusted source.
