I am 17, weight 120 pounds and I am small/scrawny. I really want to gain some muscles to look better and feel better about myself and to impress my girlfriend. What kind of foods should I be eating? I already eat healthy compared to most teens but what I am trying to ask is, is there like some sort of food plan you should follow in order to workout and gain muscle?

PROTEIN!!! That's the number 1 thing you should be having more of. The best kind, is fish, an easy way is to get cans of fish, like sardines or tuna or something like that, and have about 1-3 per day. Protein should be around 30-40 percent of your calorie intake every day, and since you're so thin in the first place, you should have a high level of calories (as long as you're working out, constantly.) I'm talking around 2500-3000 calories per day. Protein shakes work too, to give you higher levels of protein, but they should be more of a side item, keep it more to fish and white meats. In working out, hurt yourself! Now, I'm not talking about going to the point of injury, I'm talking about starting at a weight that you can barely do, and move up. If, for curls, you can do 25 pounds, then do 8 reps, 3 times... if you can do that, then move up to 10 reps, then 12 reps, then up to 30 pounds and 8 reps, and continue. There is no limit to how high up you can go, and you will hurt yourself, but your body with overcome that in the end, and you will build muscle. Easy as that.

you must eat foods rich in protein like meats, eggs, fish, milk, cheese, nuts, and etc. because 10 to 20 percent of your calories comes from protein..

Hi there my friend you start wi the work outs to tone you down , now weights so that you still have a chance of reaching optimum height, growth might still happen at 21 years of age so no weights at the moment train more on stretching, jogging push ups, pull-ups sit-ups, things that you can do with your body. 1. Eat Moderate carbs, like bread, brown rice, cereal, pasta - youll be needing it for energy when you work-out 2. Eat high protein lean meats like fish and chicken and lean parts of pork or cow if you eat those. 3. High fiber Veggies and fruits, lots of banana for potassium and apples to help on keeping your kidneys and liver healthy since they will be working double time on cleaning up your system since you'll be excreting a lot of fluids 4. Lots of clean water I suggest 10 -12 a day not only it keeps you all liquid up but gets you moisturized to. 5. Vitamins and rest vitamins so that you can replenish lost nutrients and minerals and rest so that your body can function for other activities for the day and you can recover quicker for more work-outs So there I hope i helped you out!!!

Eat a balance meal. Proteins, fibers, grain, veggies, drink your 8 cups of water per day,it is going to help for the muscles mass too. People think that if you drink a lot of water, that you are going to get too slim which is not true, instead it is helping to gain some muscle mass on top of a good diet and exercises. One of me brother is a bodybuilder since he as 16, and he eat like normal, there is no miracle stuff, get good sleeping habits too,I wouldn't try to do that just to impress your " girlfriend" at that age concentrate on other things more important.

I can tell you what my b/f and his friends did because when he was young he was skinny also. He would work out and use different techniques, lift weights 3 or 4 times a week for about 2hrs. After working out he would eat foods with proteins. He ate a lot of steak and eggs when he was in the gym a lot. One of his friends would eat a lot, i mean a lot he wanted to gain muscles he was skinny also and wasn't gaining any. He would go to the gym almost everyday.

Eat lots of carbohydrates with meat and fish aside from fruits and vegetables. Food plan is not really necessary unless when you are on diet for slimming purposes. Better enroll in a gym if you want to grow muscles in your arms and legs but ask first your girlfriend if she likes you to be on that kind of body building plan;)
