What a STUPID move!!!

Just a few hours ago I witnessed something stupid. It was so dumb that I can not for the life of me figure out what the guy was thinking. I hold a sign for a company here in Beaverton Oregon. As I was coming back out from my lunch break, I heard a loud CrAsH!!!
I ran around the corner and a guy in a tiny sports car pulled out in front of a GINORMUS Suburban. The little red car hit with such force that it knocked the front tire off the suburban and sent it flying two buildings away. The front of his little car was smashed beyond recognition. I ran over to the suburban when I say that it was a little old lady and helped her to the shop. I ran back to the little car and noticed that the guy was not moving.
Thankfully my boss had already called the police and they were there within a few minutes. He too was helping the man in the little red car. It was the guys fault and he was thinking that he could get across the intersection fast enough but did not. As I left, I watched as he was hauled to the hospital. I really think that we live in a society where noone thinks before they act. They try to get somewhere and forget that waiting is just part of life.
I hope that he remembers this when he gets out, because he was pretty shaken up, sitting in the car, and not talking cohearently. SAD. Do you all think that we should slow down a little? Maybe not be in such a rush to look cool that we end up looking like fools?

I was in a car accident last week. I was driving on the main road and someone was pulling out of a parking lot and didn't see me (i had right of way) and she drove right into my driver side door. I have some back problems from the accident but they said it should go away with time but really people should pay attention and not be in such a hurry where their going to. I don't know how she didn't see me when I was driving clearly on main road like everyone else was. 3,000 Worth of damage to my car thank god her insurance is paying for it. And luckily nobody got seriously hurt.

Wow, I must be in lala land because I didnt even see these last four posts...I am so sorry about that. Plus I am so sorry about what happened to you. It is really sad when people do not pay attention and are in such a rush nothing else matters but them. I too am happy no one was badly hurt.
Again I am real sorry for not getting to you post...
I hope that you have a good day...

Absolutely. Just over a year ago my brother and father were nearly killed in a car crash when another car pulled out to overtake a truck without looking and accelerated right into my father's car. It happened on an A-road, where the speed limit is quite high, so the combined speed of the collision was around 120mph. My father had to be cut out of the car.
The one responsible for the crash was unharmed but my brother was on strong painkillers for months and still has some lasting effects; my father can no longer work due to his injuries. That's not even taking into account the psychological effects of the crash.
None of that would have happened had the man simply taken the time to look before pulling out (why he didn't is beyond me, it was on a very busy road) or event o just have some patience and wait behind the truck.
Common sense isn't nearly as common as the title suggests.

I believe Benjamin Franklin said, "common sense isn't so common any more". This was said over 200 years ago. If that was true then, I wonder where we are now... WOW. Thank you for your comment. Have a great day. :)

Yeah. That's a good way to word it.
You know, I actually got upset when the speed limits in my area were raised to 65 on the highways and on some of them to 70. I said 'what do they want to do make sure that when someone colides it kills them which helps get rid of some of the population?' I don't like it.
I am careful tho, now, about getting mad at some drivers because unfortunately, I have made some of the same mistakes they have when I'm driving.

I do admit the pace of life is responsible for such incidents. But there is no great difficulty in arranging our schedule in such a manner that we arrive at work or other activities well in advance. This will make us drive carefully be a little less unhurried in our approach.I think it is more foolish than being cool in not organizing our day to day schedule properly so that we do things without undue haste.

Amen. I agree with you in that it is nice to take a slow pace to get things done right. That is going to happen if and when people want to. It is very sad. Thank you for your comment.

I agree that we shouldn't be in such a rush all the time, we need to slow down the pace of our daily life a little bit and we definitely need to think carefully before acting. What was the need for this fast speed and rush which puts your own life and the life of others in danger and makes you look dumb in front of others too. I don't know why speed is associated with being cool. Our lives are a lot more important than trying to act cool...
