Every time we go out I always see beggars anywhere we go. I feels like they are everywhere I go. Some are knocking on every cars, some approaches a person to ask some alms, some who just sits and sing hoping that people give them some nickles. I feel pity for them but I just don't want them to give me because here in our country some people who ask alms just to buy drugs so instead of giving them some money I just give them food that I have. Along with this poverty is I think having babies in a family. I have just noticed that people who are in need have lots of children compared to those who live in a wonderful life. I just don't understand why. I don't know if this only happens in our country do you have anything to share?

i saw several ways of begging, one that impress me was a singer in the streets,he has a good guitar and microphone, music score, and well-dressed, he doesn't look like a begger, but a street singer~he put a sign beside-- just for realizing his dreams. he wants some CDmakers to find him,he wants others know him,he sings without realizing people around, but i saw got many pennies in his guitar bag, and even there's 100RMB~ another way of begging i'd rather call them cheating.it happens in my area.he makes himself look like disabled and make up a pathetic story on the ground to get your compassion~~~ those are still young people, why don't they make a living with their own abilities instead of cheating begging...

I have also seen people who are pretending to be disabled. That is why I only give them food instead of money because maybe they are just used by some goons to earn money. If only they strive hard to look for decent job then they have money to spend.

I have seen scam beggars too. there was a case in the local paper of my hometown a couple of years ago about a beggar who actually had a luxurious flat and all the latest expensive hi fi equipment. He was earning over £3,000 a week from begging. I have also met some genuine beggars who have mental health problems and cannot look after themselves or hold down a job. the problem is knowing which ones are genuine. Usually I have found that the genuine ones are grateful for a cup of coffee or a sandwich and are not always after money.

VERY YES....All places in the world, poverty is a great problem...Here in phils.,we are much aware with this//They said ...poverty in not a hindrance to success....Will u agree? For me ..it is up with the situation..If we able to cope up everything ,then it is not a hindrance, but if we cant ,then it might be a hindrance...We need a good governance from the government to take a look to our problem here....

I agree with you. It is true that poverty is not a hindrance to be successful. If only people strive really hard just to be successful then they will reach their dreams. Well, I am also from Philippines but I think our government is busy doing some other things. You know what I mean :).

i personally think it is everywhere. middle class is becoming poorer as the price of everything goes up and wages stay the same. i often go without as much food as i would like to eat just so my family can eat more. the middle class are becoming the new poor

I guess poverty is present in every country, no matter how progressive it is. If you happened to see some videos in youtube, there's so many people today who are starving. Poor people tend to have many children because they lack descipline and knowledge. The can't even afford to buy contraceptives. Some countries offer these for free but others ask for donations. Many girls coming from an impoverished background doesn't know how to take care of there body right. they are usually the victims of trafficking.

Poverty is everywhere in the world. I think that the government needs to help these people out by setting up homeless shelters, housing, etc etc. These people need help getting back on their feet, and people who are more fortunate should always help out those who aren't. It's nice to know that you try to help out, good job!

some beggars on the streets who are healthy in terms of their physical look should find a job rather than living their life by asking for alms. but i really feel sad when a baby is carried by her mother under the heat of the sun to ask some alms. but one way or the other, we should share what we have to them without expecting in return. let GOD bless us for wat we offered to them.

Poverty yes it is definitely there. But there is a huge divide in the economies . People who earn they are earning plenty . You can obviously see the increasing traffic and the number of vehicles nowadays. But when we talk about poor people they are really facing great amounts of problem still. A part of them are simply getting ignored which is really sad and have to start really working for them.
