to my daughter not sleeping at night. I know not everyone will agree with this as not everyone believes but I believe that my great grandfather is attached to me & looks out for me (he passed away about 15 years before I was born)...
Last weekend when I had my stall at my local flea market, i met a psychic who also had a stall & I bought a candle off him (aromatherapy) to help my daughter sleep at night & he said that there is a man that scares her & he described my great grandfather the way I see him...ever since then, I ask him not to scare her & let her sleep & I don't have as many problems getting her to sleep like I did...
My daughter is 4 & I have also been told that she has the same gift as me being able to sense spirits...
What do you think about this? Do you believe? Why or why not?

Believe or not believe isn't the very important question. If your dauther see someone that scary her, it is normal that she can't sleep. And if you say that you have the same gift, I think that it it too early for her understand that it isn't scary and she would get used for it.
It is difficult at only 4 years, but it quould be difficult for anyone accept this gift.

I think lots of little kids have this gift but we lose it as we get older. My friends son saw stuff when he was little, but he doesn't see it now. We believed him though... we believed he saw what he said he saw.

I would like to believe but all I can do is think it's possible. I do think we all have more abilities than we are capable of using and that some of us are more in tune with these abilities. I have had a couple of minor experiences but I cannot count on anything or know anything for sure.

Some are gifted to sense spirit. These people have the power to see what others can not see. I am just curious what actually you can see things others can see. I mean what do they look like?

I don't really "see" them as such, I just get a mental image of what they looked like when they were on this earth.

Though I have never seen a spirit, as you know I do believe in them. I have tried for years to connect to a few with no luck, but I do still try. I have spoke to psychics, mediums etc and so far no luck but I will not give up.
The good thing is your daughter is now having an easier time sleeping through the night and that is good for all of you. =)

Yes, I believe you. I've experienced a spirit before in our other house we lived in. I've seen a lot of psychic kids documentaries on TV also.. and I am a firm believer. It apparently worked. I think my son in law's grandma stayed in our house. She used to ring both door bells all the time and make the lights flicker on and off... I asked her to stop because it was freaking my daughter out..and it stopped.

I haven't seen any of those so I think I don't fully believe on ghost and spirits. But when someone tells me about their experiences I still believe on what they say sometimes. Depends on the person who tells me. But normally kids sees ghosts. But at her age, she could have told you what she's seeing. I remember my mom telling us that when my brother is about 2 or 3 years old. He used to point his finger in the air and would tell my mom "Mamay" This is how he call my mom's grandma, she passed away when he was at that age.

Honestly and frankly [my apologies], I really do not believe in such scenario of seeing a spirit or ghost, unless otherwise if I would experience that. The fact that the mind really play sometimes on us of seeing things, but in fact it is a probably a pigment of illusion based on some chemical reaction in out blood stream affecting the brain function.

believe it or not i do believe you, when i was a little kid i seen spirits all over the place and i lived out on the Reservation and ever since then i can feel when something spiritual or ghostly is around. i cant see them anymore but i can sense them and it turns out we have one in our house that just plays with the cats non stop in the morning they will be pawing at nothing like they are chasing something then they will stare in the air at one spot and just watch something go back and forth it doesn't scare me any cause i know it wont bother me cause i've caused it no harm or anything but sometimes out of the corner of my eye i will see a shadow walking back and forth but when i go to look at it, it disappears..

It seems like you have a pretty harmless ghost in your house & obviously it's an animal lover
