This two phrases sounds really cool when your are actually giving a piece of your advice to others. But nowadays there is a lot of issue regarding these two common phrases in our life. nowadays people no longer love to work "hard" and reap the benefits out of it ..people are becoming more smarter and is dong "smart" work in their life. Even in my MBA classes many a times i have heard professors ans faculties to make a similar statement as "its all about smart work and people who are really good at it are given preference by companies and people in your life". We have grown up listening from our parents advise of working hard to reap the best of the benefits and recognition in life and society.May be the trend has changed and so the thinking of the people regarding the way of dealing with life and challenges.Nobody repeat such phrases of "hard work" any more or is it so?? what you friends think about it? i would like to have your views regarding this.

you have started a nice discussion friend. smart work is needed before hard work.smart work is just planning, scheduling and finding a short route to achieve the goal.

you should work smart but not hard work. even hard work is our responsibility. but in order to reduce our work load, we should work smart, know how to use the materials that is given to you, manpower and so on. try to work smarter to gain more but not work harder to gain more. =) happy mylotting

I still hear from people about the need to work hard to make a good living. Though, most of those taking and advocating that path seem to be struggling for survival with badly paid jobs. On the other hand, I see a lot of people who seem to be doing nothing and make lots of money. So, I guess the smart work is a better choice. Though, I think the best is to combine both - working hard with working smart to reap even more benefits, at least until people start their own family.
