Last time, when I went to the center of our city, my attention was attracted with this tree.
It is a pity to see it standing along the road almost choked with the carbon monoxide it breaths everyday.
One more thing is that, it might fall anytime and may hurt anybody or destroy properties.

I once planted a santol tree in my school campus when I was in 4th grade. That was a lifetime ago. I wonder what happened to that tree now. I hope they took care of it when I left that school.

That's a very good idea! I have thought of that before but never had the chance to actualize it. Maybe next weekend, I'll ask my former classmate to join me to visit our old school. :)

You did the same thing with the father of my classmate and it was good.
The father of my classmate also planted an avocado tree infront of our school's ground.
Everytime we sing the national anthem, we look at it.
It is always a reminder to all the students of the shool to atleast take care of trees or plant a tree too.
Why don't you visit your school to see if your tree survived!

I've seen trees along the road that toppled over. It might have something to do with the road constricting the growth of the trees' roots. A lone tree along the road may have a higher chance of falling down especially if its roots haven't penetrated deep enough through the ground.

The same is happening in my place.
Sometimes, the government cut trees where it is suppose not to and other times, they let the tree fall by itself.
So sad!
It should have been better if concern people will really do something to save them.
Atleast they can still give oxygen for a long period of time.

I feel so bad for the condition of that tree but believe me no matter where we are in the world, pollution has grasped us in such a manner that in no place can we breathe in fresh air leave alone the poor trees. In my city the traffic exceeds humans and it is exceedingly difficult to walk on the roads. Many trees are being cut down by the government to make more space for new buildings that are coming up day by day. The atmosphere around us is suffocating and we can do nothing about it except view it helplessly. Such a sorry situation that the world has come to. We are not even thinking of preserving trees and greenery despite knowing of the good effects that they produce.

I agree with you!
We cannot really contain any kind of pollution these days which should be easy to do.
In my city, the government is also trying to cut trees to give way to a parking lot.
It is really ridiculous to get rid of them when our city is prone to slide during typhoons.

Hiya irene,
So many trees here are being cut back but at the same time they are being looked after they are quite well most of them and in the Spring they start to blossom again. Usually their branches are interlocked with each other in such a way that they make shade for People walking by.
Something to be really grateful for as way too many trees were cut down before now they are making a timid comeback.
The oldest Tress fare the best in the Cities its not often one gets sick and I hope they don“t.
One or two have had to be felled but they usually try to leave the trunk itself at least part of it.
Sorry to hear about your trees.
Although there are some trees here that are running into problems because of bugs they get but they are trying to cure them.xxx
