Being happy at work can be hard for me sometimes. I have two bosses in my life and they are a married couple. I have a problem with the husband he screams and yells at his wife throughout the day and im not sure what happens after i leave and i feel so bad for her she is crying all the time lately and i feel realyl bad for her and i get such bad anxiety attacks lately so i have been thinking that when he starts yelling up stepping out of the office and letting them kind of deal with each other. I dont want to be around it anymore and i really dont want that in my life at all and its hard on me. Have you ever experiened such a mean boss before in your life? He screams and curses at his wife throughout the day and its just so mean i have never heard someone say the F word so much.

That is really terrible! I guess that's why it isn't advised for couples to work together. Specially in your case when one becomes the boss of the other. With your anxiety, I bet it is even worse for her. Both at work and at home. That's why I think it really helps to have a separate working world from your family life. It just makes it healthy, I think.

maybe stepping out and confronting them will work but at the same time maybe it wont, the thing you have to ask yourself is, would it be worth loosing your job? maybe it would be worth more if you spoke to other employees and getting there views, if it is the same then maybe aproaching the couple as a entire workforce instead of a individual? its harder to replace a entire workforce. then at the same time if they are professionalls then they should keep private life at home

Being happy is an art as this cannot be achieved without practicing things in life.We should always be positive with enough patience as nothing is permanent in this world as each and everything we see or have will change in course of time and we have to accept this hard fact of life. When problems comes, we have to think positively without taking too much of tensions as even these problems are there only for a short term which will pass away sooner. Living this way will keep you in good spirits

we had a boss that was not the best. he yelled at his staff and treated them very poorly. his wife fired a girl while she was on sick leave (which is illegal here in Canada), but unfortunately, they started the business but she doesnt come in at all any more and he is semi retired and the boss we have is awesome!

I hope you'll get a chance to talk to your boss. I mean I'm not sure if it's possible in your place. Because I can see that there is something that you need to do. Being someone who was able to witness the kind of life they have. On the part of the wife, she must know her rights and need to ascertain what is really the reason why her husband keeps on shouting at her and on the part of the husband, there might be reason why he's doing such cruel thing to his wife. You know everything that happen has a reason, if we only have the opportunity to know the root cause of such happening, then we will sure understand why. Then the next thing that one should do is to make advices. Or perhaps since they are your boss and you might have fears to talk to them, you can also talk to someone else, like their parents, kids or relatives so that they will be the one ti advise them especially the husband.

this is like dejavu.. i have read this similar problem in Reader's digest - a column "Ask Aunt" or auntie.. forgot. But her advice was if you get in between better look for work that has lesser complications.

Hi Lolo, indeed sometimes it is hard to find a good job. I ever came across that kind of boss in my life, while i was still working before. But, my that ex-boss is not yelling and screaming at his own family members. He likes to yell and scream at his staffs. Making everyone who works for him feels uncomfortable. I and the other staffs, slowly took our turn to resign from there although he is offering quite good pay. We just can't work well in a not peaceful environment. If you can't take it anymore, i hope you will be able to find a much better job and leave this company as well. Good luck to you, Lolo.

Hi lo lo girl: Thanks God not. I have some bosses that want too much and they are like do this, do that, etc. But at least they have been respectful to me. So basically the only problems I usually find in my job are due to anxiety because I want to accomplish my goals in my job and sometimes we have time problems. ALVARO

Gosh, is it permissible to say the "F" word in work places? I heard my boss yelling "F" word in his office a couple of times, but he won't say it out loud though. About your boss yelling his wife, that won't be necessary, if he really love his wife, he shouldn't do that. Who knows what he might do if he has such anger toward his wife. I guess that your boss need some kind of anger management.

Yeah. That can be very annoying and distressing for you. I don't know why some individuals are mean. Maybe they hate the world or something like that.

if you are not happy anymore, start looking for a new job and leave that place.. No one likes to work if the environment is full of negative energy. It will really affect you.

Ah, yes, those things really are irritating and it's kind of hard to have a boss so cruel. I had this experience wherein my boss was really angry, but then i started to look in his own perspective, i researched him and i found out he had a terrible childhood. I thought that my boss was just misguided and he needs to regain his composure so i gave him a self development book as a gift by Dale Carnegie entitled "How to Win Friends and Influence People". That helped a lot since he became a better man. You can do it, just don't give up. Good day and Happy MyLotting.
