Many people have been touched with the story of this newest hero in town. She's a native female dog named Kabang. She almost lose her face after saving two children from being hit by a vehicle. I myself don't know how to feel after seeing what happened to her face, I feel like crying actually. I'm just thankful that she's alive and according to the news she's now pregnant. I just hope that veterinarians can do something to help her... Here's the the whole story of her heroic act... http://macklatestupdate.blogspot.com/2012/02/tabang-dog-saves-two-children.html How about you? Do you know any heroic acts of a dog? Or do you have a dog who have helped you in any way or saved someone's life?

WOW! THat's really touching and to think it's an animal saving the lives of human and not the other way round? THat's amazing! hehe Are those two children her owners as well, or they are merely strangers to the dog? NO matter what, it's something we dun get to see and hear often, with the dog putting other lives above their own I guess the dog needs a plastic surgeon to reconstruct her beautiful looks so as not to scare her puppies.. hehe

Hi Kun! Its been a long time! How are you? Yeah, stories like this are really touching and amazing. How can these animals have such care for their owners. Sometimes some animals are more human. hehe The two girls as far as I know are grandchildren of her master. Yeah, I also wish that her face will be reconstructed but the procedure is expensive I guess. I hope someone will sponsor her. Scare her puppies? haha

Free yet busy? haha :D How are you too? I agree, animals are definitely more humane than humans and that's why humans are jealous of them, always come up with ways and means to torture, hurt and kill animals.. haha In this case here, many would be happy and touched to see such news, but there would be some psycho people who wish the money is being spent on themselves rather than using it on the poor dog.. haha

free yet busy? free from what? from me? haha and busy with....hmmmm haha, what about me? am I bad and jealous of rats that's why I hunt and kill them? haha I think there will always be some people like that, who wish to have money spent for them and not for dogs or any pets. People are difficult to understand than dogs. haha

Well there are many faithful dogs all around and i also keep reading about strange incidents involving dogs saving its owners or doing some great help to its owners etc. But, i do hate dogs as i cannot bare its barking sound and may be i get disturbed very much by the sound and even though i tried many times to bare it, i cannot help it as i have failed in such cases. But it is good to hear such stories and dogs do have sense in some cases while in other cases they will act mad and i feel only when you train it or love and feed it, it will be good

Hi alienstar! Well I can't blame you on that coz even I who already like dogs also gets irritated with some other dogs, specially those of our neighbors...haha They are just so noisy and sometimes I am also afraid of some dogs specially if they are not kine, coz I don't know if they will attack me or not...hehe Anyway, haven't you tried to pet a dog even once? Maybe you can try and who knows after that you will learn to stand their noisiness...lol! just kidding!

The parent of that two children she saved on the street should at least try to pay for this marvelous dog medical expenses and living expenses for a while until she is fully recovered from the accident. I think that probably is the minimum show of appreciation the parent should have on Kabang. She almost lose her own life trying to save both children and it is no doubt a very brave action on her part and is heroic in nature. It is no doubt certain dog breed can be the best rescue worker human ever known on earth.

Hi lampar, But the kids are not from a rich family so they are not capable of paying for the medical expenses of Kabang, but since the kids are related to the dog's master, I think the best that they can do no is to take care of her while she's recovering. But looking at her actions, she's already active and healthy. Kabang is really well appreciated not, not only by her owners but to everyone. I also heard that people are coming to their place just to see her.

She's really brave. Like what u mentioned here, she has motherly instinct and in this case here, she's saving two children instead of her own puppies. She must have been well trained or both children must have been very close to her. The female dog is way better than us humans, when we have the ability to help yet we are standing around, watching them struggling. This dog deserves more than appreciation and honours. She puts her life on the line, saving human lives, what more can we ask from her?

hi sanitary! for sure those children are close to her, i think dogs really have such instincts of helping people specially if they are good to her. I have a dog before and its funny coz there are times that my husband and I are acting as if we are drowning when we are at sea and we let our dog see that e are struggling, and know what? our dog didn't know what to do at first, keeps on barking as if asking for help and then he will swim going in our direction trying to do something to save us... I think they just know how to repay their good owners...

I have a dog before named "Monty". He is one of a kind dog. Half Rottweiler, half "askal". We talk to him in tagalog and he is very smart. When someone attacks on me or shouts at me, he gets mad. There was a time, we transfered home from one place, Monty was so sad because he got used to our old place. So, he can't barely live alone on the street. He wants to be with me anywhere I go. One time, I while I was waiting for a ride going to school, he sat on the side of the road with me. When I went up the jeep, he barked a lot as if telling me to go down and not to leave him. So, I went off the jeep and waited for him to see a destruction then, I will make my way to the jeep. There was it, he went on the other side to pee so I rushed on the jeep and praying that he won't see me. But his nose keep sniffing, his head keeps on turning everywhere and eyes keep looking and poof! He saw me! I asked the jeepney driver to leave so my dog won't bother anymore but Monty run and run very far and barking while following the jeep. So i said to the driver to stop. Monty jumped on the jeep and came to me. The other passengers were shocked. I beg him to go out of the jeep but he won't listen so I had no choice but to go down as well. And waited again for the chance to escae. Gladly, I escaped him and I went almost late for school. I so miss him so much. That was 10 years ago. There are lots of stories to tell between me and Monty but. it would be too long for a comment. Thanks for reading!

I haven't seen that movie but I search for it and it seems to be really interesting to watch. Will be watching it soon. Yes, same here. I also missed all those dogs that e have before and like you, whenever they die, we bury them like humans as well even with our cats before. Its just sad that we have one dog who has been "dognapped"? hehe I don't kno but I guess he's very unfortunate to be a "pulutan" of those people in our new place before...so sad and I really hate what happened to my dog that time...

Oh, my... That's sad. Monty was dognapped too when he was a puppy. Our neighbor got jealous because she was given a puppy (Monty's brother) and was small. Monty was a big puppy that time and n fact the biggest among them. Some kid just heard Monty howling and told us he was at the neighbor's house. We went there and asked them and told them that a kid saw Monty here. They told us lies of course and said they didn't notice the puppy went over.

to think of it, she is pregnant and she still puts her body on the line cos those little girls are her friends.I heard that she will undergo operation so she is going to have a snout again,I am sure her owner will take good care of her puppies cos those puppies have the bloodline of a true self less and loyal heroine. Hachiko, eat your heart out!

yes, and I hope that her surgery will be successful. Yeah and if were there, I might even ask for a puppy from her master! She's also a true blessing for her owner because after what happened they say that many people are now going to their place to see her and they also have additional customers in their auto mechanic shop...

Hello Cyk, I read the whole post. It is really heart touching.. The great news is still that dog is alive. The more what we need and that is the more happiest part to read it.. I myself had a great dog called Jancy. It is a rottweiler and u had seen her picture in facebook too. She is always a big bodyguard for me and comes wherever i go inside the home. She dislikes if anyone touches me and gets ready to attack them. So i always inform my circle not to touch and speak me if they are coming to my home. She is always great on understanding my mind and behaving according do that. Really i miss her a lot now. she is no more with me. I had heard so many heroic acts of Dogs and also seen some of them in my friends and relation circle, even at my home too.. I can tell u 1 thing my friend. You can trust a Dog more than a human! I bet they wont put you down.. Happy Postings!

Hi ckyera.. After reading your post, then following the link and viewing the photo... i am speechless rather like to say i salute her for the heroic act. It is too pathetic that she has to suffer a lot after the sacrifice. Well, i personally wish her long life without pain. See, when we humans are so self centered and never think anyone's good, at that time a dog has proved how much they are decent than us. have a nice time.

You are right Shibham and sometimes I even think that dogs or even other animals are better than some humans who act like animals... They are really a true and loyal friend, if we treat them good they know how to payback... Her oner must be proud of her and love her more too.

Hi Jaiho! Yeah, its been a long time since my last started discussion! haha I just can't stop myself from sharing this dog's story. Everytime I see her I really feel sorry on what happened to her and at the same time I admire her so much for her courage and her love to her masters... New puppies? Can I have one then? hehe just kidding! Its really fun having dogs at home specially those cute puppies! Yes, that's also what I wish, to have her face reconstructed, but maybe it will cost a lot. I hope many people will help her. How I wish I could.

i believe the dog's name is tabang which when translated means "help". and well great help was what she gave when she shielded her owners with her own body against a motor vehicle leading to the deformation of her face. i have dogs of my own and i love them like they were my own little kids.... sometimes they misbehave but all the time they gimme lots of loving. when i am sick my dogs would stay by my bedroom door watching me closely, and i could see the worried looks on their faces as they gaze at me with a question like "mommy are you alright" and if they could speak i know they would have asked that. life has been better since having them or else my life will be a bit boring...

That's also what I think the first time I hear her name, I thought its Tabang but no, her name is Kabang which means spot, patch, dot or stripe of different color on the body or hair of an animal. Anyway, I agree with you that life with our pet dogs around is a lot more better. Now I'm missing my dogs before, how I wish to have them back again...

a really touching story, now that's unconditional love. now, it's really true that the dog is the only being that can love you more than it loves its self. there are a lot of stories that involve dogs saving their owners from accidents, even at the cost of their lives, but whats more heroic are stories of dogs going out of their way in risking their lives to save people they don't even know, especially during calamities. They really are a great example of unconditional, selfless love.
